cyclogest side effect

hi all, hope you’re ok. I’m on 3 x 400mg cyclogest a day and I have had pretty bad migraine, dizziness, insomnia and hot flashes. None of the ‘pregnancy symptoms’ I’d like to see though 😔

Has anyone experienced this with cyclogest? I’m wondering whether to change my type of progesterone in the future, I’m really struggling with the lack of sleep and migraines 😔😔 thanks in advance for any experiences, first time I’ve taken it x

hi Elsidee I hope you’re well , try to drink more water and see if that helps xx it’s like a lottery everyone gets something slightly different, last time I felt really tired and I think I did get the hot flushes at the beginning and then sore boobs on and off. This time I’m only tired so far (day 8 of 2 pessaries ) but experienced similar to what you described with the oestrogen. Someone advised to consciously drink more water and that really helped. Hopefully it will settle soon xx wishing you all the best of luck xx how far are you on the 2ww?

Thank you, I am 8 days after transfer but I think 12 days of 3x pessaries. It’s just the migraines I’m struggling with the most, I don’t remember this on utrogestan. 😞 I’ve been off work because of the headache combined with the insomnia, I’m waking at 1.30-2am every night and don’t get back to sleep until 5-6am until about 8am. I’ve had it 6 nights in a row now. Will definitely try and drink more water, thank you. Clinic told me to do meditation but I feel that’s all I do now and it doesn’t help. 😔

Good luck with your tww xx

Poor thing that sounds awful ! , as if this wasn’t enough on its own xx you’re very close to your OTD 🤞🏼🤞🏼, hopefully it will all improve soon and you’ll get a positive result. Have you been walking? Maybe that could help you too , sending you all the best of luck xx

Tbh it’s made this 2ww 10x worse. I just have this gut feeling it’s another BFN, wouldn’t mind all this if it was for a BFP - I’d take 9 months of migraine and insomnia for a BFP! ☹️ I’ve been walking every day, mainly just 30mins, but today we did about an hour. I didn’t want to overdo it. Thank you so much, you. 🤞🏼🤞🏼Xxx

I’m so sorry this process can be very tough the hormones literally disrupt everything! , just try to be kind to yourself , it’s very hard to guess the result from the symptoms , hopefully you’ll get a nice surprise soon 🤞🏼🤞🏼 I’ll pray this is the one for you xx

I was on 4xCyclogest 400 and 1xUtrogestan 200, and remember some of the things you are telling. But I tried to take the last dose just before going to bed, and that's how I managed to sleep. And then when I woke up in the middle of the night, I would sometimes take the next dose and that way I would also fall asleep again (I think that right after taking a dose the effect is rather "sedative" but when the level in the blood rises to the maximum it is quite the opposite... or something like that happened to me).

What I can assure you is that it will have nothing to do with the positive or negative result, really. They are just side effects of progesterone.

It will be fine 🍀🤞

I’ve had quite a few headaches throughout treatment though not sure if specifically the Cyclogest. Have you tried a sleep app or meditation to help with the insomnia? X
