Hi Moviebox! I’m also in my two week wait and I know how frustrating and stressful it can feel. I’m going back to work on Monday and I’m looking forward to the distraction. Have you taken the full two weeks off?
hi I just wanted to wish you all the best of luck ! I hope everything goes well ! Try to find something nice to do, a new book , new series, pamper yourself etc whatever that helps taking your mind off it.
I personally worked through it as I know working helps me as a distraction, I mainly work from home so I tried to go out for walks when I felt anxious, and found it helpful. Also enjoyed the office days a bit more on those weeks and making plans with friends.
I hope it gets better for you and that your dream comes true xx
yeah I don’t take time off during 2WW unless I actually have somewhere to go like a wee holiday or plans. Sitting at home drives me insane! Good luck xx
I took 2 days off post transfer and then worked from home. I found the distraction of work was good for me. Except I have had less patience and so have had to watch my response to things as it’s been either snappy or overly emotional at times 🙈 Yesterday at the start of a teams meeting someone said something and I thought nope don’t need this stress or your crappy attitude so just dropped out the call 🙈 My manager luckily was in the meeting and after my previous days mini teary breakdown to him knew what was going on and covered for me 🙈
I think everyone is different and May depend on what job it is you do. X
Hey Moviebox
There’s no easy answer, everyone feels differently. Work can definitely help pass the time and that’s what I’ve done previously. However during my last 2ww I just felt that my mind was so consumed by the waiting that I then felt guilty for being so distracted by work. This time I plan to work for the first week as I find that one goes by fairly quickly as I know it’s too soon to tell anything but the. I’ve booked off the 2nd week when I know I become a crazy, testing mess 😂
I agree with what others have said though, try to find nice things to do x
Hi Moviebox,
I’ve found this difficult to decide on too… my work is quite busy & stressful most of the time, never know what’s going to happen day to day (I’m a Nurse). So I’ve planned to take to the full 2 weeks off.
Good luck to you all & I hope the 2 ww goes quickly xx
Hi Moviebox,
I had my embryo transfer done on Monday and I went back to work on Wednesday. Feeling absolutely fine at work, but being at home is a lot harder mentally. Also going for a longer walks with my two dogs, to different places every day. Doctors said that too much rest is not a healthy choice, but everyone is different. I was very active before anyway and I’m finding this a bit hard to take it easy if you know what I mean.
Good luck!
