cycle day 1! Frozen embryo transfer! 1 embryo.

Hi all ,

I just started my period today and am due to call the clinic tomorrow to start preparing for my Embryo transfer. I had a fresh transfer during my Ivf 6 months ago . Though we lost our baby to fetal anomaly at 21 weeks just this august . The transfer worked the first time . We obtained only 5 eggs 3 of which were immature , one was a day 3 transfer which was my first baby whom I sadly lost . Now we have one final frozen embryo. Really hoping this works. Just to note i am 26 was 25 and have PCOS with normal BMI at the time had very low stimulation mild ivf - so recieved a poor response.

Nevertheless still happy that we have this final frozen embryo. Its my first frozen embryo transfer so super anxious about it . Especially after a loss .

I am due to call the clinic tomorrow they will tell me how to take the oestrogen and how long for and book me in for a baseline scan.

Can anyone tell me how this will work? Timeline etc? . This is a induced cycle .

If anyone else is due to start their FET cycle with me please feel free to inbox me . Would be nice to go through this journey together!

Lots of love!

Hi, I'm sure there will be different protocols but in both my FETs I have taken estrogen tablets from the first day of my period, had a scan about day 12 to check my lining and ovaries and then gone for the embryo transfer on day 18/19. I introduced progesterone pessaries 5 days before transfer and progesterone injections from the day of transfer. OTD 2 weeks after transfer. I found it felt pretty quick and easy after a fresh cycle! Good luck :)

Hi Willowpark,

Thankyou! Yes mine seems a similar protocol! Though i start oestrogen tomorrow day 2 .

Feeling super anxious , my fresh transfer took so idk how my body will respond to a frozen transfer! Also this is my only embryo .. if this does not work then we will need to do IVF again . So fingers crossed this is our miracle healthy baby!

I've heard that frozen cycles tend to be more successful than fresh, so if you have already had successful implantation I'd be feeling positive. There is nothing you can do now other than hope, so try to relax and take your mind off it. I know that is easier said than done when you have had a traumatic experience, but you know better than others that it only takes one embryo to make a baby, and this could be your shot. Wishing you (and AloeDuck ) lots of luck. I'll hopefully be right behind you with my next FET in November x

Hi! I’m on day 2 of my cycle, started my period yesterday and started the protocol today! I’m on the oestrogen tablets 3x2mg a day until my scan - days 10-12. Hopefully the thickness of my womb lining should be 7mm then I can book FET and start taking the progesterone. It seems so much easier than the fresh IVF and the feeling so much more relaxed. I’m sorry for your previous loss. I have miscarried and had 2 failed IVF’s before having to resort to Donor eggs because I don’t have sufficient quality in any eggs that I produce. I had a child a few years ago and this is my second through DFET.

Hi! I’m in the middle of my first FET. Started Progynova 2mg x 3 a day on day one of a full bleed, had my lining scan on Wednesday and things are developing nicely (13mm lining and ovaries doing what they should). I start progesterone pessaries on Saturday twice a day and then I have a progesterone blood test next Wednesday and transfer next Thursday afternoon! I was due for a fresh transfer in august but they did a freeze all due to me getting mild OHSS symptoms after my retrieval so we’ve got 3 frozen embryos to go at now! Good luck with your cycle x

update: Hi all so I called the clinic and they had me start oestrogen tablets 3x a day until my ultrasound to check the lining which is booked for the 23rd of october . So almost 8? Days away i would say . They then said they would book me in for my transfer around the 28th if all goes well and looking as it should . I assume they will get me started on the progesterone that day.

Right now I am so numb to everything , having lost my pregnancy at 22 weeks due to fetal anomaly. Just recently this august . There is nothing more i would want but to be pregnant again . But I am also so worried . Trying not to attach my self to the possibilities of it working as i dont want to get hurt.

My fresh transfer worked the first time , i am 26 and have pcos . I really hope things work out for the best.

all the best of luck ! My period just started today, so I’m starting oestrogen tomorrow. If everything goes well I think transfer would be 1st of November, I’m a few days behind you. How are you feeling so far ? Has the oestrogen brought any side effects? I’m dreading this a little bit, I really wanted a natural one but my clinic doesn’t do those 😂
