It is amazing to think about how much has happened in the last 5 months on our journey to parenthood, and yet, it seems as though time has slowed down. Making it to that first embryo transfer felt like an eternity, but I finally went this past Thursday to get a successfully thawed embryo put in. They even gave us a video of the first 5 days of its development, which was so magical to watch!
Let's just say I am enjoying being PUPO (since I have never before been pregnant, even for a second!).. I have just over a week to wait until I get confirmation of whether or not my little embaby found a nice place to settle down. Wish me luck!
Hey there, that is really a nice post! I want to wish you all the luck for this FET... I can totally relate that success means so much when you go for IVF after having had so many heartached of failed TTC. It's really awesome that you phrased the 2ww really nicely. Optimism might not make it a success but will definitely help your 2ww with all the positive hormonal balance. Will look forward to your update
Hi AmbK, Thank you for your message and the well wishes! I hope that your journey hasn't presented you with too many obstacles to overcome.. I am assuming that you are also going through IVF? Best of luck, and hope you don't have to wait too much longer to see a baby moving around in a sonogram! <3
Thanks for all the luck! well we need IVF after the dissapointing failed attempts at IUI but isn't quite there with the funds yet. I have a coverage for another 2 years or so but then we're not sure if we're lucky enough to make it on the first go. hence on a break to prepare for the IVF.
Sorry to hear that the IUIs were not successful. IVF has higher chances of success for each round, so I really hope that IVF works for you sooner rather than later! Never lose hope though..if you want a baby, you will find a way! (Also there was a recent study that found that 25% of couples who had failed rounds of IVF actually got pregnant naturally in the few years after that, so you never know...)
Good luck to you. I hope this procedure is a success for you. I am glad that you are going into this phase with positivity. This is something that really matters. Just take care of yourself. Eat healthily and drink lots of water. Do not test until next week. Sending baby dust your way.
Hi hannahding, Thank you for sending me luck! I know how interconnected our mental health is with our physical health, so that is why I am trying to stay positive and hopeful, even though the odds are technically against us with every embryo transfer.. but I want to maximise my chance of success, and in order to do that, I have to keep my mind as well as my body healthy and minimise stress as much as possible (also make sure I get enough sleep and exercise, in addition to your excellent points of staying hydrated and eating well). Here's hoping that luck and a willing womb favours the implantation of this embaby!
The nurse at the clinic gave me an Ovitrelle shot immediately after the transfer, so I will not be testing until I go in for the blood test next Monday, as I wouldn't want to get excited about a false positive.. My period is due any time from Thursday to Monday as well, so I may take a home pregnancy test next Monday morning, but definitely won't be doing that before then!
