I had my second scan this morning and I was sad to see it was with a different nurse. At my last scan the nurse was so friendly, warm and empathetic - and clearly very experienced and good at her job.
Today’s nurse was a bit cold, and she struggled to even find my left ovary and then when she did she didn’t see as many follicles as Rosie did (who zoomed in to measure them).
It did make me wonder about the equipment and technology and how much it could be at risk of human error.
The four follicles growing from my last scan had continued to grow and the biggest was 14mm so I’ve now started my Cetrotide (I find the injections for this the most difficult/painful)
They’ve also increased my dose of Pergoveris to 375.
So now it’s an another wait until my third scan Monday morning. On my first round I didn’t get a third scan as they pulled my EC forwards, so I’m feeling much happier that this is more on plan.
I also had acupuncture yesterday which was so so good - less the acupuncture itself and more talking to Kate who’s a very experience fertility acupuncturist so she’s very knowledgable and super nice and reassuring. I do find this forum invaluable but it is nice to talk openly F2F to a real human. And during the treatment she gives such a good massage. My neck was particularly tight so she focused on loosening that for me and I felt so much better afterwards.
My clinic has a monthly support group run by one of their counsellors, so I’ve signed up to that next Weds which is the same day my EC is pencilled in so think I’ll need it by then.
Really enjoy hearing all your experiences so welcome any replies/commments!
Baby dust to all,
Lisa
