Second Follicle Scan

Hi everyone,

I went for my first scan this Wednesday and I had 19 follicles- 10 of which were small and one was 14mm which was the largest (6 Days after starting Gonal- F). Today, which will be 9 days after starting stimulation, the nurse said that I have 14 good follicles in there, and said quite a few of them are now 14mm. I asked her about the large on though from last time, and she said it's now 15mm (which isn't a lot of growth, is it?). Do you think they're slowing down? Or does it sound okay? Egg collection is planned for next Wednesday.

Sounds good to me. Mine grew too quickly so I only ended up with 9 days of stims but less follicles because they were bigger (I had 5 follicles by day 9 but the biggest was 20mm) so they had to move retrieval earlier. If I remember rightly they want them around 15mm so sounds like you’re right on track. Good luck.xx

Ok phew thank you! I'm not sure why I always feel like a burden to want the specifics at the clinic! I hoped they would move mine forward I think they were considering it but don't think they will now xx

Sounds good to me too!

I only had 9 days of stims with not many follicles but the ones i had were off good size, my biggest one was 21. I had my egg collection on monday and they got 6 eggs! Don’t get too hung up on having loads of follicles. Sometimes less is more. The clinics know what there doing though. Good luck! Xx

Thank you they said I've got a bunch of 14mm now so that sounds ok hopefully. Just thinking about everything too much probably! Xx

Yeah i was exactly the same! Its very easy to over think everything during all this!

I was the same its all normal to overthink 😀 but just because there grown slow it doesn’t mean somethings wrong, your clinic know what they are doing. I had the same and i was panicking but once i went for my egg collection i was happy with the results which i hope you be too xx goodluck
