FET prep

Hi! I’m new here! It’s really hard to find any kind of fertility support online but stumbled across this page and thought I’d reach out!

I’m about to start preps for FET, I’ll be starting suprecur on day 21. Scared!

But before I can start I need my period to start! Did anybody find they had a late period through putting pressure on it to arrive? Mother Nature always delays when I want her on time!

First of all, good luck with everything. It’s good that you have found this, the platform is really supportive.

And yes strangely enough that’s common, your body likes to play tricks on you during this difficult time but it’s like you say it’s the pressure we put on ourselves. It’s easier said than done but try your best to find ways to relax and distract your mind so you not focused on waiting for period to start. A heads up that it’ll be similar when in two week wait, if you work I would suggest not to take time off but make sure you not over doing it just enough to keep mind busy for most part of the day x

Thank you so much for your response and kind words!

I’m putting soo much pressure on myself for it to arrive and its making me more anxious as the days go by - really hard to keep my mind off it.

I remember how tough the 2WW after my IUI rounds - awful, they actually made me feel depression by the third time because I just knew.

I’m not sure where you are in your journey but the very best of luck to you too 🫶🏼

Hi! Thank you so much ☺️ I’m out tomorrow night so might have that wine 😆 perhaps that will help relax me and it’ll come when I’m not wearing the appropriate clothes for it 😂 xx

Hi there!

Ahh yes doesn’t the time seem to go so slowly when you are waiting for something! I had the exact same when waiting for my period to come in prep for my FET. My cycle ended up being 45 days!! But it did come in the end and I’m about to have my FET on Tuesday so yours will come just try and relax and don’t put pressure on yourself! ☺️ good luck and hope all goes well x

45 days 😱 it’s because we want it soo much isn’t it and don’t want to have to wait any longer! Did you have the long or short cycle? The very best of luck with your FET, sending you so much baby dust ✨ xx

Hi and welcome to the blog! I have found it really helpful throughout my IVF journey. First, very best of luck with your FET. For me, FETs were much less stressful on the body than stimulations. My period did come on time before the supercur. Something that really helped me keep relaxed in the run up to my second FET was fertility reflexology - would highly recommend. Wishing you very best of luck with the transfer!

Thank you so much 🫶🏼 did you have the short or long cycle? I’m assuming long if you had suprecur but this is my first IVF cycle so I’m still learning! I found stims and retrieval recovery ok mentally but the bloat was awful! It was my first period after the retrieval that really hit me hard! xx

My clinic only calls them long and short cycles for stimulations, for FET I think they call it a medicated as opposed to a natural cycle given the down regulation with Supercur. I got OHSS following stimulations so had lots of bloat, the first period after was a much welcome reprieve as it levelled all the hormones. Two other things that I did during the FET were taking oral and vaginal probiotics, as well as drinking pomegranate juice to help with the lining once I was on progynova/oestrogen tablets. xx

Ahh ok so the long cycle at my clinic is the medicated cycle which I’m having. Il be starting the suprecur on day 21 once my period decides to turn up 😅

I had OHSS symptoms too which is why I’ve had to take a 3 month break before FET. But my hormones have been awful since, I’m so emotional.

Il deffo look into the pomegranate juice! I’ve heard a lot about castor oil too!

Thanks for sharing! x
