Going for my 3rd FET, after 2 failed ones one fresh and one frozen.
This time I really want to try probiotic vaginal and oral to see it makes a difference, if anyone has tried this when is the best time to start. I’m waiting for my period to start to start my medications.

You need to start oral probiotics NOW. It usually takes 3 months to really see the benefits of any new supplement.
The vaginal one I took 10 days straight before transfer. Canesflor has been discontinued though remember. Not sure if there are others or any still on sale anywhere.
I did accupuncture as my clinic offer it before transfer, but I also did reflexology which I loved and really relaxed me. X
Thank you, I have been taking oral probiotic for a a few months now it’s the vaginal one I wasn’t sure when to start, so 10 days before there is the raw probiotic from garden of life brand not sure if any good, I’m using the Optibec women oral one.
Hi 😃 can’t comment on the probiotics but just wanted to say that my 3rd transfer was my lucky one and my son is almost 3. I had a failed fresh and failed FET. First ever positive with my 3rd transfer and I had transferred 2 embryos, both implanted but unfortunately one didn’t make it past 8 weeks - however it was still a success as I have my son.. Good Luck with your next transfer 😃
This is the advice I received from a microbiome specialist:
They must be composed only of Lactobacillus strains and preferably be for vaginal application. In case they cannot be found vaginally they can be used orally, but it must be borne in mind that colonisation is much slower, and therefore all the procedures will have to be delayed in time: taking a new biopsy and embryo transfer. Typically, vaginally, an average of 10^8 viable bacteria/day for 5-10 days is instilled, whereas orally, doses of at least 10^9 bacteria/day for a minimum of 15-30 days are required, because they will have to withstand the antimicrobial effect of stomach acid and bile and because colonisation of the vaginal mucosa is indirect.
Pls can I ask about the need for probiotic? I've not heard about using any?Just starting IVF journey.
I was taking in India where I live part of the year as sometimes you pick up a bug. I actually got food poisoning this time as soon as I returned to the UK. Had a major spew the night I returned. Took some for a week that I brought from India. Wondering if I should take some more. I'm eating yogurts almost daily.
Lactobacillus strain might help with vaginal and endometrial dysbiosis
This is what I have found in one research paper. But it has shown some benefits anecdotally.
It helps with a lot of things so won’t hurt to try .
Lactobacillus-containing vaginal probiotics hold promise for vaginal/endometrial dysbiosis and have proven to be safe, but at the moment, scientific data are insufficient to recommend their use systematically for treating asymptomatic dysbiosis before IVF.
I had success on my third transfer after 1 fresh and one frozen . I took as many as I could in the month leading up to transfer , I don’t think you can get enough . I also took balance activ in the week after my bleed and between my transfer . Good luck ❤️ xxx
