I’m wondering if anyone can ease my anxiety at all. My HCG levels have been as follows:
12dp3dt- 580
13dp3dt - 847
15dp3dt- 1761
18dp3dt - 5463
20dp3t - 9075
My clinic have said they’re generally looking good but I didn’t double between 18dpt and 20dpt and so they’ve put me back on a steroid prednisone (I was on this at the start of my transfer but they took me off it a few days in). Also my immune blood tests have come back slightly raised (they usually are slightly raised with me) and so I may also need an Intralipid drip on Friday (I had this pre egg retrieval). We have our first scan on Friday when I’ll be 5 weeks 3 days pregnant.
Does the fact my hcg hasn’t doubled mean something is starting to go wrong or have others had this before?
Thanks all! As always I’m absolutely chuffed I’m pregnant but now feeling a bit scared!

Hi I was told that they dont always double after the first couple of HCG tests, which is why some clinics dont re test as it can cause unnecessary worry and anxiety, congratulations and I hope Friday when you have your scan it can help you feel a bit more relaxed x x
Thank you so much for sending this! This has helped me relax tonight. IVF pregnancies are so weird it’s like it’s not happening because your brain won’t accept it. I wonder at what point you start to believe it’s real! Maybe after the scan when we know there’s something actually in there fingers crossed xx
Hey congratulations first of all. I wouldn’t worry as HCG takes about four days to double after you have passed 6000. So don’t stress- I know easier said than done but looks like a successful pregnancy to me. Happy and safe delivery. Stay positive.
I think they do stop doubling after a certain amount like others have said. I think you should def stay on the steroids though- most clinics don’t take people off them till 12 weeks upwards and then a very slow wean off and if you’re getting immune blood tests raised it’s important.
