I am coming up to my final injection of Prostap, of which I will have had 3 monthly injections in the aim to have reduced my recently diagnosed stage 4 endometriosis, ready for my 16th fertility treatment. This will be a fresh embryo(s) transfer from my wife.
We are also considering me having a scratch which I haven’t had before, however did have a FET following a nKC test (where a biopsy sample was taken and has similar effects of a scratch) and I fell pregnant, though had a EM.
Has anyone had success from the treatment of Prostap, did it calm your endo/ando enough? Also anyone had a scratch who has endo and had success?
I am on the wait list for surgery but been told it’s a 2 year wait and I am 39. Looking into costs of this privately but anticipate it will be costly. Again any experience/info greatly received.
Thank you 🙏

Hi Amelia. Hopefuly, three months worth will help to settle all areas of the adenomyosis. Not sure about a scratch with such a condition, but I wish you huge success. Diane
Thank you Diane much appreciated. Our consultant is recommending 5-10mg prednisolone alongside transfer and we were thinking to introduce baby aspirin, as this is something I've never tried before, yet to discuss this with the consultant. Do have any experience with any of these? Many thanks.
Hi Amelia. Yes, the prednisone is a low dose steroid to hopefully support your immune system so your body hopefully hangs on to your embryo and doesn’t reject it as a foreign body. The aspirin should ensure even blood flow and work to prevent clotting. Pineapple is good for this too. Good luck. Diane
I'm sorry to hear about your struggles. My path has been very similar and I didn't get success until I finally self-diagnosed endo and got surgery to remove it. I also saw a RI privately who gave me IVIG. I would recommend looking on Nancy's Nook FB group, they have a specialist endo surgeon list in their files section. There are UK based surgeons who will see you privately, but also a surgeon in Greece and in Bulgaria (I think), who many ladies go to and good reviews, who also might be a bit cheaper. They should give you free or cheap consult and pricing I believe. All the best to you xx
Thank you so much for your message it’s really appreciated. I’d questioned whether I could have endo/ando years ago and was told unlikely and that was that. So as much as I was glad to have an answer after all these years, I also felt let down.
Anyway no point dwelling, I’m still determined to get the result we’ve longed for. Thanks for the Nancy Nook, I’m going to check that out straight away. I never thought about the option of going abroad and that possibly being cheaper, so will look in to it.
Can I ask what IVIG is?
Thanks again for your help, so much appreciated 🙏🙏
I have been diagnosed with Adenomyosis and have had two doses of Prostap prior to transfer. They were going to have three but decided a third wasn’t needed following scan and blood results.
I am 8days into 5dfet.
I wish you well with your treatment and hope you are doing ok. X
Hello, thanks for your message 😊 It’s great to hear someone else trying the Prostap protocol.
May I ask what the scan and bloods tested for/showed, to determine that two was sufficient?
I haven’t had any testing/scans and had my third Prostap, which will run out in 2 weeks. Then I am going on Suprecur (for about 4wks) to follow with a fresh transfer from my wife.
I haven’t noticed much difference (biggest effect for me is my endo/ando belly). However I recently did a sensitivity test and discovered sensitivities to certain foods which I have totally eliminated out my diet. This has had a massive impact on my endo/ando … along with endo anti inflammatory supplements I’ve started taking. Either this or the third injection changed things for me. Either way it’s making me feel positive!
I’m excited for you, I hope you get your wish. Have you had previous transfers?
I have found a few research articles on line which show there is some evidence of improved implantation with Prostap.
thank you - I’m keeping everything crossed but have lost a lot of hope 😞
I honestly can’t remember which hormone the bloods were checking as I feel like so much has happened since then - they did explain them to me when they rang but I can’t remember.
On the scans they were checking the thickness of my lining and my ovaries. The lining was 24mm at baseline scan before Prostap was given, 3 weeks after my second injection lining was 2mm and ovaries were completely down regulated. I was then given elleste solo to help prepare my lining for transfer.
I’ve had one previous fresh transfer through NHS treatment it was a day 2 transfer as this was their protocol as there was only one fertilised egg on that cycle. This resulted in BFN.
Wishing you and your wife lots of luck I’m keeping everything crossed for you both!! Xxx
It’s very difficult, and so easy to lose hope but try to keep calm and turn any negative thoughts into positive ones, keep believing. My wife worries a lot and finds the 2ww the hardest, I always try to tell her there is no point in worrying as that doesn’t change anything other than making you feel worse. I know it’s easier said than done, but focus on things going the way you want them too.
That’s great your lining reduced so much, I’m really hoping on my baseline scan that my lining is so so thin. I’ve always had a juicy lining, which we always thought was a good thing (and were told it was always good), until I recently got diagnosed with endo/ando, and now when I think back to baseline scans when it seemed thick, it was maybe an indication to ando. Anyway I think if my baseline scan is thin this next time, I’ll feel the Prostap has done what it needed to do.
I’m keeping everything crossed for you! Stay positive, you can do this, just keep believing your baby is on their way 😊 x
thank you sooo much for ur words of encouragement it’s really appreciated 🙂🙂💕
The first baseline scan I had it was mentioned (I’d never heard of it til then) but when I mentioned it at point of treatment it was dismissed. At the private clinic it’s the first thing they said but it cud only be diagnosed by MRI, so we aid for it to check if there was a diagnosis and there was. There has been several comments made at scans that my lining is a bit thick.
Really hoping the Prostap has done its job as if it does all the side effects were worth it!
Hope it works it magic for u!! Let us know how u get on - wishing you soooo much luck xx
That’s okay, I’m happy to encourage you, if you ever need to talk feel free to msg me. This will be our 16th treatment cycle, so we have been through our fair share of ups and downs (over 5yrs), and I know how it can feel. So any support I can offer, I will always try too.
It sounds like you have a good clinic and it’s music to my ears that they recommended you had an MRI! Frustratingly I have had 9 embryo transfers (of 15 embryos, both mine and my wife’s eggs) and I questioned whether I could have endo/ando over the years and was told unlikely. Until I had a bad pain episode end of last year (ended in A&E) and I went to my GP and requested an MRI saying I think I have endo & ando, she thought I was crazy but referred me and turns out I have stage 4 and both. So likely the reason for so many failed transfers (I have had 2 pregnancies but lost). Anyway rant over but you can see my delight that someone recommended you this check and early on - which is what should happen, so I am pleased, they’re reacting for you now, which is a good thing.
I hope so much Prostap is a big tick in both our worlds 😊 and we can be the positive examples for others, that it helped us.
I’ll keep you posted and please let me know how you get on too.
curious on this. I was due to have prostap for my FET, I had assumed cos the nasal spray shortage but maybe they actually were doing it to calm my endo, but I was concerned about prostap being in my system for 30 days in case I got migraines on it and got put on daily injections but then I bled early so ended up doing no downregulation. Now I worry I missed out on any benefit from prostap to my endo. nothibg was explained
