Hiya, had anyone had a successful IVF cycle after Prostap? The universal name I think is Lupron? The reason is because if stage 4 endometriosis.

I’ve had 6 months of the injection and I am now about to start IVF in the next couple of months.

Looking for some success stories!

Thanks in advance xxx

Hi Rachel27

Sorry, I don’t have an answer for you, yet, but i also would be interested to hear any success stories after prostap.

I was on prostap myself, 3 injections, for endo stage 4. Now I’m on the long protocol. Dawn reg scan is on Thursday!

I had lots of endo removed during laparoscopy but one of my ovaries is still attached to the uterus...

Hopefully it will work !

Hiya Buisquits, what does the Dawn reg scan show? At my follow up appointment at the hospital, I asked if I could have a scan to show if the endo has improved and they said no!

One of my ovaries is also attached to my uterus, but I am just thankful I still have one working ovary and tube.

Looking forward to the IVF but now it’s come round I am feeling nervous!

Hi Rachel

I had 3 months of prostap before my first round of IVF. My ovary was attached to my bowel. The round didn’t work but I don’t think it was to do with the endometriosis, I have poor egg quality as well. My consultant said after the prostap I stood the best chance of the ivf so you should be the same. Good luck with your round, sending baby dust to you xxx

Hi lovely,

Sorry for the spelling mistake - should be down-reg. it’s more an appointment than a scan from what I’ve been told.

I have been on prostap straight after the lap for 3 months and I was told that was to calm down things and then I should have better chances with ivf. When I can back for a follow up app they lining was building up already so I had to go on provera to induce the bleeding. On the 1st day of bleeding I got another prostap injection. The scan is in the day 11. They will check the lining and tell me about the next medication I will be taking.

I have also asked for a MRI to check how my endo is doing, the lap was in September. They said no, they don’t need that. The mess should be enough. I do want to trust them. I also got a second opinion from a specialist abroad and he confirmed the diagnosis and the method they are using. So far so good.

Sorry, i didn’t mean to write an essay here... anyway, I’m scared that the endo will influence the pregnancy, especially that attached ovary...

How are you feeling? Was prostap ok with you?

I think we have a similar story. I was also diagnosed in September, one of my tubes is damaged and I have my bowel wrapped around my left tube. Straight after the lap I went onto 6 months of Prostap to calm things down before IVF.

But I haven’t been offered a scan so how can they tell the lining is building back up or not?

How long did it take for your period to return to normal after stopping Prostap if you don’t mind me asking?

Sorry about all the questions. I just want to make sure things are definitely ready before starting IVF. I don’t want to waste the chance if the environment is still not right for an embryo xx

It does sound similar! Small world :)

I had the usg scan as a base line scan because the last one I had was in August. Another reason was that I had my last prostap injection in December. As I can back for the appointment in February they were expecting thing in my body to go back to normal so instead of waiting for my bleeding they gave me provera and I’m back on prostap for 2 weeks. They say it should be out of system in 2 weeks.

When I asked for mri the consultant said they don’t need to check endo now because they seen in during the lap. They will need to ch wk on it in 6-7 years and probably do another lap then.

I had my lasy injection 13 of December and my period started, with the help of drugs, on 25th February. I am guessing that if I went for appointment earlier I would have had another prostap before starting the cycle. But that’s just my guess.

I know what you feel like about being ready, as ready as you possibly can. I do trust the doctors, at least in the first round. In my eyes that want me to be successful and much as I want that as it effects their success rate :)

Do you know when is your appointment with a clinic ?
