Stressing about Progesterone level

I’m currently on my 8th Cycle (5th transfer which is a FET) - my NHS clinic doesn’t test progesterone but I do test privately. My Medichecks has now come back as 493 nmol. Does this number seem high the day before transfer? They’ve said there isn’t a figure too high, but I’ve had 1 chemical and 3 failed transfers so don’t want this to get in the way. Im also on predisilone due to an abnormal endometrial biopsy. A natural ovulation outside IVF would sit around 38.5 for me. Any advice welcome.

Hi there - wishing you huge luck for your cycle! I’m with a private clinic who tests and mine came back at 451nmol before transfer. I was panicking about this as they said they want anything over 100 - and felt 400+ seemed like an outlier. My consultant is really renowned and he smiled and said he’s beyond HAPPY about the high results and it’s a great sign which will really help implantation. He’s never happy 😂 so thought I’d share this as truly believe he def wouldn’t have used this language if there was any cause to worry. I’m also on 2x Lubion shots a day plus 2x Crinone gels (basically a VERY high dose of progesterone and I naturally have them around 90nmol when unmedicated so don’t need a high dosage). He could have lowered my dosage but said def continue. It’s early days but I’m 8dp5dt and I’ve had my first BFP after three failed rounds of IVF… so hold the faith! I’m rooting for you! X

congratulations - that’s amazing news for you!! I’m only on 2 x Cyclogest and seem to be quite sensitive to Progesterone for some reason but I’ll not give up hope until I have too :) x

Thank you. Also just be mindful with some of the replies here that lots of clinics report in ng/ml - not nmol. I think nmol is 2.5x ng/ml. My clinic advised to cancel a fresh transfer and freeze if levels were below 100nmol.

Thanks so much. After 8 cycles, every little thing matters and found it stressful thinking my progesterone has elevated too quickly before transfer and the lining isn’t optimal any more. It really puts you through the ringer.

2 x Cyclogest (800mg total a day). Seems lower than a lot of prescriptions for progesterone but getting high levels.x

I was on progesterone 3 times a day before transfer and 9 weeks 2days pregnant today. It is not effecting your pregnancy. It may only cause OHHS. I will continue to take 3 times a day till 12 weeks.

No - it was before my next dose. How I’ve tested is accurate, it’s more the result that concerns me.
