Has anyone taken antihistamines before/after a FET? I'm taking them for allergies (hayfever is a bitch) at the moment but obviously the guidance is to stop taking it if you are pregnant (and I guess after transfer you kinda have to act like you are until proven otherwise).
But now I'm reading a lot online about people taking them anyways when doing an FET for immune issues (or suspected immune problems). I've got early recurrent miscarriage issues, still not looked at my immune system (it's next on my list if this transfer ends the same way, or fails) but I wondered if anyone took antihistamines at all before and after transfer?
Am also trying 75mg aspirin as my clinic said it was fine (even though there's no evidence on it...)

You should try to limit the usage of antihistamines at the moment Try wearing wrap round sunglasses- vaseline round your nostrils Take a look at nhs.uk Hay fever for other hints & tips
I would talk to your clinic. I have autoimmune issues and allergies but was advised to avoid antihistamines after my FET and did. Perhaps a local antihistamine like Beconase spray might be acceptable, but again, I would check with your clinic. Like you, I took baby aspirin because I was told 'it won't hurt' but you might want to ask your clinic when to stop it. For me, it led to a large subchorionic haematoma in w6. Good luck!
it's okay I'm going to stop them and just grin and bear it anyways. I've seen a few people talk about SH on aspirin. If i'm lucky enough to be successful and I even make it to my 6 week scan (always told bad news before that point) then i'll ask when to stop or whether to continue. Thanks for the luck
I was told not to after transfer by my nurses at my transfer in May the tree pollen was pretty bad and even at egg collection I discussed it in conversation with the doctor there as they were suffering too and empathised but asked me to try and not take it if at all possible. I did manage but I know my hay fever isn’t as bad as some peoples so I totally feel your pain xxx
I was told the only antihistamine you can take safety is Claritin 10 mg daily which is also part of autoimmune protocol that was mention your post. I would recommend though following up with your doctor
Histamine is important for implantation so antihistamines are best avoided after transfer unless you are specifically told to take them by a repro doctor. (There’s no strong evidence in the literature they reduce pregnancy rates comparing large groups of women, but that doesn’t mean they don’t interfere at all, and goodness knows we need all the help we can get!!) Once pregnancy is established loratadine can be taken but only if absolutely necessary and for as short a time as possible xx
