Hi ladies, I'm starting another round and wondered if anyone has had luck on both menopur and gonal-f? For my previous 4 cycles I've only been on menopur. This new Dr said I have many follicles at baseline however not enough eggs retrieved and that with extra FSH from gonal-f I may get more eggs.
I'm 42 with very good amh and afc however not enough eggs. My bestest embryo was a good quality 3AB last year however did not implant...may be due to having covid the month prior.
I've tried day 3 transfer a couple of months ago but sadly started bleeding a week before otd.
I think combination works best. I was on Gonal F first 4 days then added Menopur for next 8 days (12 days total stims). I had antagonist also (in the morning) for last 7 days. It worked great, I don’t know how would be on different protocol because this was my first ivf. I got 20 eggs, 16 fertilized, 10 blastocyst and 7 tested normal so we are really happy with the results. Getting ready to start FET cycle now🙂 also, doctor put me on high Gonal F (375 IU) and then lowered it several times during the cycle, Menopur was 75IU all 8 days. I’m 37 (will be 38 in December) with unexplained infertility (had two miscarriages) so he didn’t know what to expect but he was very pleased with what we got. Trust your doctor and be optimistic and it will work great I’m sure 🙏🏻🤞🏻to sticky babies
Hi, thank you. Sorry to hear about your miscarriages. You're still young, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. What's your amh? What was afc for that round?
I'm on 150iu both menopur and gonal-f, today is my 3rd day. Last round I was on just menopur and I got 9 eggs measuring over 16mm, also had 9 eggs retrieved however my afc was 21. So only got half the no. of eggs. I was on low dose (225iu all the way then day day 150iu) due to overstimulation in October 2023.
Doctor's rational is very reasonable and willing to try anything xx
My AFC was 12 (very normal) and AMH 4.69 (I’m in USA so I think it’s different than in Europe) but also very normal. All my test came back normal (they did all hormones) and I did saline sonogram (it was terrible to be honest maybe the worst experience throughout all my cycle) and everything looked great. I did fake embryo transfer, they wanted to check if there’s something worrisome but nope. So we don’t know why miscarriages (very early, one was week 6 and other week 7 so we never had baby’s heart). Doctor said that we managed to stay pregnant so that’s ok, he didn’t even push for IVF, he suggested IUI but I wanted to do IVF freeze all and test, I was thinking that maybe my eggs are bad and embryos were bad hence miscarriage. It’s hard when you are ready but somehow it’s not your moment 😒For FET I’ll be on corticosteroids (they didn’t test NK cells at all) shortly and baby aspirin and hope for the best 🤞🏻
Thank you. Wishing you all the best in your FET. I'll be on prednisolone, clexane and aspirin - never been on these before but because I had recurrent implantation failure I am will to try anything. I've not tested for nk cells either.
Hopefully it works for both of us 🥰 I just had my scan and everything looks good and I’ll be starting letrozole tonight 😅 in a week another scan and blood work and let’s see 🤞🏻I have ovidrel shot, Valium (they prescribed that for day of embryo transfer to relax 😅), and presnisolone ready. Didn’t get any progesterone for now so let’s see. Good luck to you and keep us posted 🙏🏻
I have low AMH and had menopur and gonal-f. I had quite a high dose of gonal-f from memory and then a few days into the cycle introduced menopur. My first round I got 4 eggs (this was acually a pleasant surprise) 1 day 5 blast (transfered- BFN) and 1 day 6 blast (frozen). Second round I had the same protocol and only got 2 eggs. Only 1 fertilised normally and I decided to put this back in on day 3 as it looked average quality and they weren't sure if it would make it to blast. That average embryo is now a 20 month old. So in my case I had success with combination Gonal f and menopur despite my low number of eggs.
It's good that they are willing to try something new. I hope you have success this round xx
Aww Jane thank you for your reply. This round I have quite a few changes including luteal support. I'm taking both menopur and gonal-f at the same time, same dose. Currently on day 3 so still early days x
