hysteroscopy

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with having a hysteroscopy prior to FET?

6 weeks ago I had an unsuccessful transfer experience, for unknown reasons, the catheter couldn’t get to where it needed to go, my doctor tried for hours but had to stop as it was so painful and it just wasn’t budging any further.

She then referred me to my local gynae for a hysteroscopy to investigate and to dilate my cervix.

Obviously we were devastated.

Like many of you, we have had a really rough 7 years of trying, and fighting to get to this point, with lots of set backs along the way.

I’ll be 40 in December and where we live, the cut off for ivf treatment through the nhs is 40, so we are feeling so much pressure and stress right now.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

would love some positive news 😊 xx

Ahh I'm soo sorry the setbacks are just soo difficult spesh when u think your gettin somewhere. I had a laposcopy and hystoscopy In Feb obvs they can see if there any blockages etc basically jus have a good old nosey to make sure all ok and no blockages etc I came bk with endometriosis of the bladder and 2 cysts. So then they can advise from there it's jus gives them a good insight I ended up going private as the wait on NHS was soo long so I my gyne did my op so he kinda knew my background I was meant to have my transfer straight after as he drained my cysts not removed them as he didn't Wana damage my overys so time was of the essence but cuz of complications I had my transfer in may with my 1 egg which was frozen. It's a hard time I hope u get the answers soon good luck

Hi DAL. So sorry for your heartache, it can be and is soooo difficult for you.it might be a good idea to go ahead with the hysteroscopy to check out your womb and do a biopsy. Dilating the cervix good too. Perhaps have a trial run before transfer next time so they have the right instruments to proceed with. Good luck. Diane
