Can you do an IUI before an FET? And I s there any point/ can this delay the transfer?

IUI before FET
Hi Rhea, I don’t think they would do an IUI and a FET in the same cycle. One of the reasons is that if the IUI worked and your egg got fertilised, the catheter from the FET might damage/disturb the embryo from the IUI. Has the clinic suggested you try IUI before doing another FET? X
Hi- the success rate of IUI is much much lower than a frozen embryo transfer. If you have an embryo good to go I’m not sure why they would do an IUI 🤔 did they suggest this or is there a reason why IUI might be preferred? Xx
no it’s just while I wait for the FET to start I thought I could do an IUI beforehand
Have you been told you need to wait for an FET? Would they not both be done on your next cycle? I would imagine doing an IUI would delay the FET until the following cycle.
thank you no I haven’t I’m waiting for my miscarriage bleeding to stop then I’ll start the get on my next period
I see. I’m very sorry for your loss. I was lucky to get my daughter from an fet straight after a miscarriage. Wishing for the same for you x
thank you did you do anything different for your second FET?x
My first transfer was a fresh cycle and I was told the miscarriage was most likely due to chromosomal abnormality. The only thing I did slightly differently was to ask for my progesterone levels to be checked on day of transfer, which led to me adding in lubion injections. I was 40 at the time so think it was more due to my age than anything else.
