Letrozole before FET

Hi.

My doctor prescribed letrozole to prepare me for FET. She did not elaborate on other medication other than to return to the clinic on Day 7. I would like to ask if anyone knows what is coming up next?

Also, if anyone has tried using letrozole for their FET Preparation, are there medications to be taken after frozen embryo transfer? (Ex, progesterone, aspirin)

Thank you

Hi, have you not been given a protocol by your Dr / clinic? It’s normal for them to outline things by the day so you have an idea of what to expect through the process. It normally would include details of after the transfer, when to start progesterone etc. If I was you I would ask for one so you have the details, everyone is different so it’s the only way to know what you’ll need.

Hi usually they also prescribe progesterone gels.... On the day of transfer u need to insert it vaginally.. Continue it twice daily for 15 days... To me for fresh it was crinone gel n now for my cmg FET on June 9th 2020 its orifro pessaries.... Call ur clinic n confirm that do u need to use any gel? if ur fertility specialist didn't prescribed it then I think u no need to worry.. What if she prescribed n u are unawear of it n suddenly before transfer u Wil get a message from ur nurse to start using gel!!! Just confirm with ur doc.... All the best....

Hi hope25. Today is my cycle day 4. Are you using letrozole as embryo preparation? Will you be having FET this cycle? Thanks 😊

Progesterone

Progesterone is to prepare the lining of your womb for potential pregnancy as you naturally make progesterone but sometimes it’s not enough to stay pregnant so it’s supplemented to make sure you have a good level in your body - if you were to just stop them pregnant on not you would been , if not pregnant you stop them to bleed , if you are pregnant it helps to try and keep the pregnancy viable until your own body takes over with the progesterone while pregnant so they wean you off them at 12 weeks.
