Hi, I had my little girl last year on my second round of ICSI and we also were lucky enough to have some embryos to freeze.
I’m now starting to think about trying for a second time but have no idea of the process/ timescale for frozen transfers?

Hello! I have no experience of resuming IVF treatment after a longer period but I know that my clinic would expect you to book an initial consultation again if your last contact was more than six months ago and possibly repeat a number of screening tests (the in-date varies between 3-12 months at my clinic). I imagine it also depends on what kind of FET you would like to do and whether you also want to do any additional investigations like Endo Trio or Quartet. My clinic's transfer protocol typically runs across two cycles, with the first being the preparation month where you will need to have any investigations, screening tests and nurse consultations done and possibly any down-regulation if you go with a medicated cycle, and then your second cycle would be the actual transfer cycle. Wishing you the best of luck for your journey towards a sibling! x
Hi,
A lot will depend if you have to down regulate or not. I don’t and my treatment is really fast. As an example I start progynova on day 2, then get a scan between day 8-10 if all looks good I’ll start cyclogest and transfer will be booked for 5 full days after that (for a day 5 embryo). So around 14 days total but obviously everyone’s protocol will differ. I agree with Dreaming of Two’s point on repeating the tests, this was something I hadn’t thought of and added a bit of time! Lots of luck xx
I would just call the clinic and ask what their protocol is. They will tell you what tests need doing and then what the process is. As you will know from your first, the rest is all very dependent on the individual and their individual cycle that time. Exciting to be getting the ball rolling. Wishing you all the best of luck!
