Progesterone....how long do you take it?

Hi I got a blood test this week which stated I was borderline pregnant and need to be re-tested next week to see if my HGC levels increase or drop. When I called they told me to stop taken the progretone capsual 3xdaily. I questioned this as I thought I would have to continue them for a bit. Slightly panicked now with not using the capsuals and worried that because I was borderline pregnant it can really go either way! Any advice appreciated. ♡

Sorry to hear this! When you say borderline pregnant I presume your hCG levels were too low for what they thought was a viable pregnancy so they've asked you to stop progesterone. Do you know what your results were and how far along you should have been? Im a little puzzled that they would tell you to stop but also check your hCG again to see if rising or not as if you stop then you will bleed. I had to stop progesterone on my last cycle as my levels werent increasing as they should have been.xx

My level was 26 and they said it needs to be higher. Between 2-25 was a non pregnancy and I think between 26-50 is borderline?

I feel like my period is coming any day as needing to eat sweet things! No idea why they would tell me to stop. On one hand I feel like they are the professionals and know best but on the other hand when I read up on things it implies that I should still be on the progesterone!

It is fairly low. How many days post transfer are you? I would have thought they would have checked your levels 48hrs later to see if they had increased or decreased. Have you done another home pregnancy test?xx

Not done any pregnancy tests. I am thinking because it is so low it probably hasn't worked however trying to be very positive! I got the transfer 2 weeks tomorrow. Thanks for replying x

Ahhh I see, so you're 13dp5dt....it is low but mine was only 43 14dp5dt and went up. If you're really nervous about stopping the progesterone then give them a ring back and see if they'll retest you before you stop meds....they should be able to see either a rise or a fall. We did lose our baby at 6 weeks but think my progesterone was low. Hugs, this is so flipping hard!xx

Was the test done at the clinic? Just as Cinderella5 said, you should call and ask to know why you're to stop the meds?

Sending you lots of hugs

Yea they were done at the clinic. I called and they said that your body now naturally makes progestrone so it isn't needed :(
