I am 8dpt and have been having symptoms like my period is about to start all day and last night too. Not just cramps but general feeling of tiredness and anxiety and feeling hot.
I googled to find other people with something similar. I found a post I had written six months ago on here which I had totally forgotten about.
This is exactly how I felt 6 months ago on our last unsuccessful transfer. I feel exactly the same now. It obviously hasn't worked, and it'll be our third unsuccessful euploid transfer, on top of one untested unsuccessful transfer and two natural miscarriages.
We have absolutely every single test under the sun and they have all come back clear. There is nothing left to test for. We've done blood NK tests, uterine NK, hysteroscopy, EMMA / ERA / ALICE, endometrial scratch, hycosy, thyroid, lots of other blood tests.
I read all these studies about how you have a 95% success rate with 3 euploid embryos. Why is it not working for us? What are we doing wrong?
I am just in total, total despair. The last six months since the last transfer have been hell. I just don't know that I can cope with another failure and with absolutely no explanation or way forward.
Has anyone else been in this situation and has any suggestions? What on earth do we do next?

hi, sorry to hear the way you are feeling and everything you’ve bern going through. Just thought about the Thrombophillia tests, have you done them?
There is a recurrent miscarriage clinic that might be helpful if you haven’t checked everything they do there. It might be just a feeling, hope you will be successful.
What was your protocol with this transfer? Did you have any blood thinners, progesterone support, steroids? Maybe it is time to change clinics?
I've had all the thrombophilia tests at Lesley Regan's miscarriage clinic, they all came back clear apart from Factor V Leiden which I am on blood thinners for (and have been for all the other transfers). I was on steroids last time but not this time. This time I've been on progynova, clexane, aspirin, Lubion and cyclogest pessaries.
I do feel as though my clinic have done absolutely everything they could have. I've had a few second opinions from consultants over the last couple of years and they haven't suggested anything we haven't done. But maybe another clinic will have a different protocol that might help.
have you thought about consulting with Shehata? They may offer something additional for the Immunology. It is strange this time you were not on Steroids but last time you were.
I have a friend with Factor V leiden and she was successful so I know you can be successful with that.
Have you tested Prolactin? It has to be within range for the transfer. I was given Cabergoline…
I am sure it is worth consulting with another clinic too. Fingers crossed for you.
Yes, I saw Dr Shehata in October and had all his tests - and they all came back clear, including prolactin. He suggested taking steroids anyway. My clinic did some further uterine NK cell tests. Two of the three tests came back in the normal range. The other one of those tests was a bit on the low side - it was fairly marginal - and so the clinic suggested not using steroids this time because they are recommended for high NK cells, not low. I was willing to go along with that as we had tried steroids last time and they hadn't worked. Maybe we should have persisted with them - I don't know. Obviously when you don't know the cause you are just reduced to trial and error, trying different things and seeing if any of them work. I heard so many people have success stories with steroids so I did think last time they might be the missing piece. But it is so hard not knowing - what if actually they were working against me? Maybe we should have stayed on them.
seems you’ve done everything and you’ve gone through a lot! I do hope this cycle works for you! It is great you have euploid embryos and I completely understand you expected them to lead to success.
Really can’t think of any other test I had done that you don’t have covered. Maybe change clinics and as you have all the tests, it should work!
Hello Jane, i have done all tests under the sun and I have transferred 5 euploid embryos so far. I also have no idea what to do next. We have one pgt tested euploid left ( did three egg retrievals so far).
On another note have you tested yet? You re still not out!
I don’t have any additional answers to give you. Just to say you’re not alone. 7 failed FETs and all the tests under the sun. Having NK cell test soon but was on steriods for my last failed euploid 6AA transfer anyway which ended in a chemical. I’m sorry you are going through this as well, it’s absolutely soul destroying. If you need someone to talk to who understands drop me a message xx
The one thing I would say is that pre menstrual symptoms are very similar to early pregnancy symptoms. You are not out until a negative pregnancy test after OTD.
The other thing is there is experimental testing being done at Warwick University. Might be worth looking into. See attached photo from the patient leaflet they sent me. (They now do the dEFT and NK together so unfortunately you would have to repeat the NK to get the other results).
I didn't update this post at the time because I got quite superstitious. But it turns out I was pregnant, and I gave birth earlier this month.
So all my certainty that my period was on the way was wrong!
I wanted to update this and hope that it can give other people going through this process some hope.
I am happy for anyone to DM and ask for advice. I had a lot of really helpful advice and encouragement from people here and would like to pay it forward.
Good luck to anyone reading this - it is such a tough journey.
I just read all of your posts and so happy you had a happy ending and finally got your baby! I was wondering if you ended up doing anything different this time? Also, was this embryo PGT tested? I have 2 left that are lower graded. Thank you and congrats again!
