I’m currently with ARGC - if anyone wants feedback I’d be happy to share / guide you
ARGC - my recent experience - Fertility Network UK
ARGC - my recent experience
Yes please. I’m looking to do my first round of IVF using my own eggs (I’m 44, so it’s a hell of a long-shot). I’ve done a ton of research into fertility clinics in London, but can’t make a decision on who to go with. Am currently looking at The Evewell, Harley Street Fertility Clinic and London Women’s Clinic. Really keen to hear your experiences with ARGC - thanks ❤️
I had frozen my eggs at Boston Place clinic initially then transferred them to ARGC after researching the success rates of the top 5 IVF clinics in the UK. Initially, it was impossibly to get them on the phone so we scheduled a zoom call first with one of the doctors to understand the process. When we started the process I felt like no one really knew what was going on and I was disappointed but as you got into their system the way they operate is so efficient and military ! There is a website that shows you which clinics have the best success rates in UK. I’ll find it and send it to you. Let me know if you have any other questions.
hey I’m there too just started. I have mixed views would be interested to hear yours x
Wish you all the best with it ! When we first started the process I felt like no one really knew what was going on and we were sitting around in waiting rooms all day. I was disappointed but as you got into their system and the paperwork in your file starts to get thicker the way they operate is so efficient and military ! The numerous scans and blood tests that they do is monitored very closely and then the nurses guide you on what to do next. Sometimes they did make mistakes with location of my appointment but not a big deal as all the places are near each other. What I am really impressed with is that every person’s treatment is tailor made it’s not generic and that is why they must have one of the highest success rates in UK. Hope that helps.
Yes, please. I’m 44 with 4 failed transfers. Running out of shots. Thanks.
So sorry to hear that but don’t give up. One of my friend’s recently succeeded on her 6th attempt. Some patients I saw at the clinic had files the size of Bibles that’s how many times they’d tried. I’ve replied shared my experience in some depth to the posts above but if you have any other questions I’d be happy to answer them.
Oh yes please. That will be soo helpful! We have had failed ICSI at Manchester. Due to many reasons, finances being main, we are inclined towards ARGC as supposedly they have better success rates. We will be trying with own eggs. I am more interested in knowing around their costs and how they actually differ monitoring wise (which they claim) to be more successful.
I had success there in 2017 with my twins ! I then had a miscarriage in 2020 unfortunately with frozen eggs! They are military and expensive as you pay for every scan and blood test and sometimes this is twice a day towards the end ! However if you want to give it your best shot and haven’t had success anywhere else then this is the best clinic !
Sorry to hear that. If you’re based in Manchester you will need to relocate to London for 6 weeks (at least) because the monitoring is extremely thoroughly and you will have to go into the clinic every other day for ultrasound scans and blood tests depending on your individual situation. They are extremely thorough and don’t leave anything to chance - the entire process is tailor made. Most of the nurses are on top of it but some who are junior will always consult their senior colleagues. If your eggs are in Manchester it’s easy to move them. I moved mine from Boston Clinic to ARGC. Hope that helps you.
Thank you Artcaffe! This is very helpful. We waited and thought for quite some time for deciding which clinic to choose. Yes, we are ready to move to London for a month or so solely for this. Want to give it our best shot yet.
Do you have a rough idea how much a single ICSI cycle would cost? (I know it's different for anyone, currently I am estimating 13-15k for it)
About £5000 - £10,000 depending on your situation - this includes cost of medication that you’ll have to buy as well. Medication is customized and so are the tests so it’s hard to give an accurate total cost but the clinic will give you a complete breakdown of all the costs before you start the treatment. For ultrasound & blood test cost is £40 - you end up doing about 2-3 of these per week.
Thank you so much! This was all much needed information and review.Stay blessed 💐
Hi Artcaffe, do you think all the additional scans and blood work are essential to the success of the process? I ask because I’m also conscious that fertility clinics are a business first and foremost. Did you have success at ARGC because of their approach? What differed in their personalised approach versus what you had already done? Thanks so much for your help. Xx
I did ask myself the same question and maybe some blood tests and ultrasounds were not necessary but how would you know to make that decision and which day would you skip out ? It’s a hard call and if you only have a limited window to make this happen I would rather be safe than sorry. Yes, agreed it is a business but they are also here to make money. This is the first time I’m doing it - the first time I wanted to try I conceived naturally miraculously. I’m still waiting for my result which I get tomorrow so fingers crossed. As far as the additional blood tests go you can get these done elsewhere and send them in if that’s more convenient / cheaper for you but then the processing time gets delayed by a day - not always critical but for some it can be for others. I would trust the process.
hello, thank you for sharing your experience. did they suggest humira or IViG for you at all?
ARGC are amazing!! I’m currently 18 weeks pregnant after our first round here after 5 failed rounds at Kings.
The process is a bootcamp and they test for everything but their approach has given us our first BFP ❤️
