Having used both clinics...I would say ARGC leave no stone unturned and so chances of success higher though more expensive. All the best whatever decision you make.

I used lister and was very lucky first time with them.

I found them very professional and it was very helpful being able to use their satellite sites for scans and bloods that were closer to where I worked.

Good luck whatever you decide.

I only used the Lister. I was put off by the ARGC not providing an open evening. I was very pleased with the service at the Lister. They never tried to sell me any add ons, were very person-centred and caring which for me was important. Oh and our second round was successful. Good luck xxx

I've just started with the lister for my second ivf cycle. No complaints so far. The dr was lovely and actually made us feel at ease and talked to us like human beings. Not something I have had at other clinics. At no point did I feel that he was rushing to get us out of his room. He put forward two options and what his preference was but ultimately let me decide what I felt most comfortable with treatment wise. I have my nurse appointment this morning and will down regulating in a couple of weeks. Good luck with your choice x

I’ve been to both clinics and would recommend ARCG. I had my first cycle at the Lister and had my 4th at ARGC at it worked, I now have a 5mth old. ARGC are a lot more intense, an ivf boot camp. All clinics say they offer tailored treatment but only ARCG really do, and you’ll really see the difference if you’ve been to others. I like the Lister but it depends on your fertility problem as to whether I would recommend them and how many cycles you’ve already done. ARGC is a last chance saloon, mainly because it’s so expensive. Good luck xx

Thank you for sharing your experience! My problem is high AMH previous ivf has been cancelled and didn’t even got to the point of tranfer as developed OHSS and my husband has poor sperm morphology , I found ARCG has not many technologies like IMCI not sure if your problem is the same in anyway? Please let me know on how much you have spend on the cycle? you had to be in the clinic everyday and duration of the cycle ? Do they adjust medications in ARGC on the daily basis? as on my previous cycle they just put me on standard antagonist protocol on 150 units of gonal f.

Thank you:) x

I don’t have high AMH, I have endometriosis, low ovarian reserves, immune issues and husband has poor sperm count and morphology issues. We had ICSI at CRGH and it was my worse cycle. When we went to ARGC they done their own tests and said we didn’t need ISCI and they were right. I know quite a few ladies whose husbands had sperm issues, and have gone in to had babies at ARGC.

Treatment is expensive. The actual costs of ivf are the same as other clinics, it’s the daily and sometimes twice daily blood tests and drugs that make it expensive. My treatment cost was just under £27k but it really does depend on the individual and what treatment they recommend. I had immune issues and needed monthly IVIGs that cost £1,500 each. It’s the costs after you become pregnant that can add up, but just the ivf costs.

Yeah they do adjust meds on a daily basis. They make you have daily blood tests and sometimes twice daily to check your hormone levels, it’s extremely tailored. I kept miscarrying and believe this is what made the difference.

It’s worth booking an appointment to talk to them and having a list of questions for them. It’s not the faint hearted and it does seem like disorganised chaios when you first go there but their results are amazing x

Hey there, I don't know about ARGC or many clinics in Uk. I was helped very professionally by a clinic in Europe. The staff was super friendly. They knew so many languages. The whole procedure was smooth and the OB very supportive. It did not cost me that much as the residence was provided by them too. I was so impressed that I recommended it to all friends and family looking for options. I hope this helped. Best of luck.

my sister is with the Lister in London, she said they were amazing, very thorough. She went through an external company and was placed with their top consultant, I think it really depends which doctor you are placed with there.xxx

Hi there! I have only used lister and it was mainly their stats that attracted me to them, I have low AMH. I found them very good, but because I've only been to them and had one fresh cycle I have nothing to compare them to. I found my cycle with them really easy and I really liked that they did egg collection under a general anaesthetic which I dont think many clinics do from what I've been told. My EC was totally painless and I needed no pain relief after. My meds were adjusted regulalry and given my low Amh the results were good, 6 eggs, 5 fertilised and 3 to blastocyst (1 top quality). Although my cycle didn't get me my bfp, I would have no hesitation in using them again. Good luck with your choice xx

Hi Annie:) thank you for your post:) how often where your bloods checked and where the dosages of medication adjusted accordingly or just one dose on set protocol? Thank you very much x

I had bloods done every time I had a scan and then the meds adjusted accordingly. They would even call me late into the evening (before my night injection) to tell me what I needed to do with my meds. I liked that they were to the point and I knew exactly what I was doing and when. My consultant who is one of the best there is lovely! He never pushed for us to have add ons. I know lister do open evenings, have you been to one? Might be an idea to go to one at both clinics to see where you get the best feeling. I did a pros and cons list for various clinics when I was comparing and to help in making my decision (but for me, ultimately it was the stats that did it) xx

Thank you it helps a lot as much precious clinic did not check my blood and ended up on one dose For two weeks and then being over stimulated so I just want to make sure they take control of that. Do you recommending the name of the doctor you have seen in lister? Many thanks. x

I am with the lister for my first ICSI cycle ( all New to us as first time fertility treatments) they have been amazing and so professional, I’m having my EC tomorrow and everything has been so smooth getting to this point. They have open evenings with the Lab monthly so you can find out more but I cannot fault them. Xx

I’ve used the ARGC and also my brother and his wife had multiple cycles with the ARGC too. The ARGC is intense. Don’t go into it without making sure you’re ready and your life is ‘on hold’ during the treatment cycle. I don’t know how women could work and do treatment... 👏🏼 if you have! The daily blood tests in central London, daily scans, the credit card machine endlessly whirring in the office and the recommendation of unproven treatment plans and the spiralling costs... it takes it out of you. Personally, I wouldn’t use them again. The treatment was brutal and took me years to recover.
