Progynova and ovulation

Hey lovely ladies! I am preparing for a new FET (3day embryos), I have just started Progynova (estradiol 2mg), 3 pills a day. My dr told me that once you are on Progynova it is a controlled cycle and that ovulation is unlikely. This is how all of my previous FETs looked like - progynova for a number of days, then, after checking the endometrium, started progesterone. My fear is that by the time we start progesterone the body will have already started to produce it, thus we will miscalculate the implantation window... is this possible? This is also the protocol followed when I did ERA...

Hi Anita. The estradiol should ensure your lining is thick enough and receptive, so fingers crossed. Diane

Dear Anita85, I cannot help with medicated cycles but I also had an ERA test done during a modified natural mock cycle. If your ERA results have come back receptive and you are using exactly the same protocol or making the recommended adjustments as per the report then you have every chance of the implantation window being correct. If you don't ovulate then there is no corpus luteum available to trigger natural progesterone production. Wishing you the best of luck! X

Hey! Thank you for your help! :) My ERA came back post receptive at 5.5 days, so there will be some adjustments needed regarding the progesterone administration period. I am not sure about the period before, i.e. the days of progynova, do I have to take the estrogen pills the exact same number of days as during the ERA cycle?...

Your consultant will be best placed to advise as they will be changing the protocol as per the ERA report's recommendations. I know how hard it is to put yourself into the hands of someone else and have faith that they will act in your best interest but the consultant is the qualified one even if we feel well informed through a lot of research and sharing of experience. Always advocate for yourself and don't be shy to voice your concerns to the consultant, they are there to reassure you! Wishing you so much luck, keep us posted! X

Yes, you are so right.. I keep thinking that the doctors and consultants are so busy with so many patients it would be easy to forget about something... some element that might prove crucial... for them we might be just cases, but for us... it is the most important thing in our lives...
