I think we have exhausted the option of using my eggs… today we find out if our embryos (2) have managed to grow big enough for testing or even a transfer.. I’ve lost hope tbh, despite all the positive thinking & affirmations, I’m fearful for bad news..
In the event of not having my own eggs, I might propose the DE option to my husband….
1. how long is the process? I am about to start FET meds on my next D1, and transfer 25-28 days later. Is that too soon to get a DE?
2. Any idea of approx cost of the eggs & then the process for mixing with my husbands sperm?
3. We have a daughter, has anybody had a 100% biological child & then had a DE child?

I think it would depend on where you get the DE and if you could just get them from an egg bank. I think you might need to use a bank here if you wanted to go that quickly but your clinic might know more? I looked at DE here but it was simply too expensive for me. I think the London Egg Bank was about £9k for 6 eggs (check their website though as there is lots of info there londoneggbank.com/using-don... . Also looked at another one called Altrui altrui.co.uk/ . I think they were about the same price wise. It may be a couple more months if you wanted to use a clinic abroad but it may be cheaper. Hope this is useful. Xx
Hi Mrsjaytee, sorry to hear about your struggles ❤️ I personally think that making the decision to move to donor eggs can & should take a little while to make, especially if you are contemplating a mixed family. There are lots of things to consider & both yourself & your husband have to be on the same page. It’s a more complicated story for a child & so will involve more complicated parenting. I have found counselling useful, as well as the Donor Conception Network who run lots of workshops & support functions. Having said that it’s becoming very commonplace nowadays & is a wonderful option, I just think it should be considered carefully from all angles before proceeding. Wishing you the best of luck
