I’m on cycle “take” 2 of ivf and having a day 3 fresh embryo transfer today. 3 other embryos are going to be cultured to day 5 and observed for blastocyst freezing by then. My embryo being transferred today has 11 cell divide and graded 3-3. The other embryos are graded 3-2 which I think is better but they are only divided by 6 and 2. Are numbers of cells trumping gradings? Is my embryo ok??
All new to me as I had a FET last time and only had a poor graded day 6 blastocyst to compare against.
Thanks

Hello Lianne, wanted to wish you enormous luck for your transfer today! How exciting! I am not familiar with this particular grading, my clinic seems to use a different system, but generally 8 or higher cells on Day 3 is meant to be promising. The embryologist will also be looking at how even the cells are, the level of fragmentation and whether they might already start to compact. I think you are well within your rights to ask for more details on your embryo's perceived quality at this stage when they perform the transfer! X
oh you’re so sweet for checking on me! Thank you. Yes transfer happened yesterday and the embryologist said that it was of very good quality. So very happy about that, great start at least!! The other 3, well I will find out tomorrow if they’ve formed into blastocysts and it sounds like they’re struggling unfortunately. Hey ho. Let’s hope that I don’t need them!
How are you doing? I think we are both 79 babies. X
Yes indeed we are! ☺️Really hope the transfer is successful, great news to hear that the embryologist was able to put your mind at ease. It's now back where it belongs and can get nice and cosy! I am going to find out tomorrow if we can transfer in March, really hoping it's the green light! Try and relax now, it's tricky to do I know, hope the next two weeks will go quickly for you, do keep us posted! X
