Hi everyone,

Does anybody have any recommendations for a councillor / therapist (via video call preferably) who they have had positive experiences with?

I'm really struggling with the anxiety and can't seem to focus on enjoying my life, yet i've not been on this journey long, so i know i need to learn better coping mechanisms.

Many thanks xxx

Hi Carlotta, this process is definitely extremely stressful and causes a lot of anxiety. So just wanted to tell you that you are not alone. I don’t have any recommendations of therapists (I’m sure other ladies here will) but for me personally, having a meditative/spiritual practice has helped to elevate my life state and stay somewhat centred through the tough times. It helps me to see the bigger picture of life. And exercising (when possible around medication), being in nature and just pursuing any sort of hobby (I started painting at home and I’m a terrible painter!) so that my life is not totally consumed by this one thing has helped me to not stay in anxiety and fear. It is a hard process to go through. Sending you a big hug and stay strong. Xx

Thank you very much for sharing! If anything, it’s good to know I’m not alone.

You’re totally right about needing it not let “project baby” take over. I’ve not been very active socially or up to much and it’s a downwards spiral from there, where things become harder to do… I can definitely think of lots that needs doing and painting around the house so you’ve inspired me there!

Sending hugs and best wishes you’re way. I’m glad I posted on here and can see there’s a whole lot of us going through this! It’s easy to assume everyone else has perfect fertility xxx

I signed up to Spenser Brassard’s fertility mindset course and was honestly the best thing I’ve ever done. Completely changed my mindset around TTC as well as life in general. Couldn’t recommend it enough xx

thank you for this! I’ve just googled it and it does look intense but great to hear it was worthwhile

Hi! sending you virtual hugs. Sorry I don't have any recommendations. I'm on my year 4 of TTC (1 year with the clinic). I was definitely in some dark places and was also considering an online psychologist etc. Somehow it just shifted for me at the end of last year. Maybe seeing my brother struggling with 2 small kids who constantly get sick, whine and cry etc while I'm free to go and do whatever helped to get a perspective that the grass ins't greener. Maybe it was after reading the book that someone on this forum recommended ''Living the life unexpected' by Jody Day. Maybe it was getting a dog that puts her head on my lap when I'm stressed that helped. Not sure... There's a website called betterhelp.com where one can find an online therapy., this was my first stop when I was searching online. I really hope it gets better for you, you're definitely not alone :) xxx

thank you so much for sharing that :) I’m glad to hear you’re finding ways to feel positive as it’s encouraging I won’t always feel this way.

I will have a look at those resources - anything to distract the mind must be good!

Sending you the best of luck for this next step in your journey x

Absolutely! there will be bad and good patches throughout this journey. Stress, loneliness, anxiety I think we all experience this - this forum is a resource of positivity of its own though, there are so many understanding and kind people on here that will always stop and try to help :) Thank you and head up :)

Thank you! I'm glad I reached out for help on here. It's definitely a lonely journey and good to share with people beyond my poor husband whose patience with my anxiety is wearing thin! x
