Hi all, I wondered if anyone could give me some recommendations for fertility clinics (UK or abroad) who have good outcomes for 40+ women? We are based in the south west but are prepared to travel. We are very lucky to have a two year old (via ICSI), but I am concerned that our batch of embryos (created just before my 39th birthday (husband the same age as me) aren’t a good quality (2nd embryo in successful pregnancy was a silent miscarriage at 10 weeks) and two subsequent transfers have implanted and then resulted in a blighted ovum and a chemical pregnancy. I’m nearly 43 and would happily consider donor eggs.
Many thanks x

I went down the donor route and currently 11 weeks pregnant. We went abroad but it’s worth exploring both home & abroad options. The wait for a donor in the UK is often lengthy but then the risk of covid disrupting travel can’t be ignored. We were due to travel for our transfer Easter week & everything got cancelled due to Covid. I explored moving our embryos to the UK. Once you have embryos created from donor eggs you can’t move them to the UK, it’s currently not legally permitted to do so. We did manage to sneak out to Greece in July for transfer but it was stressful, an added stress not needed at an already stressful time. Feel free to browse through my profile or private message me. Best of luck Xx
Hi. Anyone replying to this post mentioning clinics by name or spcialists by name, please do so via private message. Murfster, you could try looking at the HFEA websiter for further information. hfea.gov.uk Good luck! Diane
