As an anti coagulation

Hi there, I was given the option to take Aspirin along with my Progynova and prenatals, only because my doc said it might help serve as a blood thinner and provide better circulation. He said I could discontinue if it made me feel uneasy. I was fine while on them. My very first FET was a success and I will continue taking them with Progynova and cyclogest pessaries till week 10-12.

There is no real scientific evidence it can make a difference for conception and I was told by my recurrent miscarriage clinic that unless you take it because you’ve been diagnosed with something then it can actually have the opposite effect and cause miscarriage. I’ve taken it before during pregnancy from around 16 weeks due to risk of blood clots

I didn't take for conception but I am taking now and have been on half an aspirin each day from 12 weeks for pre-eclampsia prevention, I was on clexane for conception which is an injectable blood thinner, don't know if it helped or not to be honest as I have used before on previous transfers and it didn't work out, but this time all seems well so maybe or maybe not had an impact! I'll take whatever they say to be honest even if there is only a slim or no proven chance of success, providing there are no adverse impacts which I don't believe there are with aspirin. Wishing you luck :) xx

The only one who mentioned it to me was my endocrinologist who i saw for my autoimmune thyroid. He didnt recommend it strongly but he said ‘some schools of thaught’ believe that aspirin can help women with autoimmune thyroid disease in pregnancy. I asked him if i can take it while trying naturally he said yes you can do. So this is not only from blood thinning point of view but from fighting inflammation in the body (people with autoimmune disease have this).

When i asked my fertility consultant (who doesnt believe in all the extras) he said fine lets take it after a bfp.

My bfp turned in a chemical so didnt take it in my fresh cycle. I did start taking it now because i read alot that it cant necessarily harm (low dose 75mcg) BUT for some women that might just need that little help it can help.

Long story short just wanted to say that it also is inflammation suppressing xxx

I was on 75mg in my cycles to help with blood flow to the uterus. I then got told to take 150mg after I got my BFP.xx

Hi, my clinic told me to take it for 11/12wks after my frozen transfer (I was 42) I had a baby boy. When trying for my 2nd baby with another clinic they were against it saying it can cause bleeding. I got a positive on test day and started taking 75mg because it worked with my first child. I talked to an NHS consultant who said take it from 7/8wks and not before as there is some evidence it can cause miscarriage. My GP said taking aspirin can cause problems if you have an ectopic pregnancy. So I started taking it from positive test, then after speaking to my GP stopped and waited for my 6wk scan to check it wasn't ectopic and then started taking it again. I have now been told to take it until 36 wks to prevent deep vein thrombosis which I am more at risk of because of my age.

The first pregnancy was after 1 fresh transfer and 2 frozen transfers with my owns eggs. My current pregnancy was after my 3rd ICSI with a fresh transfer and my own eggs x

Just in response to some of the other posts - aspirin and clexane are not the same thing. Aspirin is just a blood thinner and is an uncontrolled anti coagulant whereas clexane is an anti coagulant (doesn’t thin the blood)
