EC to FET transfer

Hi! I’ve been told I’m at risk of OHSS so I can’t have a fresh transfer and am going to have to freeze. I had been told this from the beginning so was prepared but it’s still a bit disappointing. Does anyone know roughly how long after EC you can have your FET transfer? The nurse mentioned something about the first bleed after EC was a withdrawal bleed and I had to wait for a proper period to start the FET cycle.

Hi it is so disappointing when a fresh transfer is cancelled, This happened with me in my last egg collection due to lining issues. I had egg collection on 28th October 22. I then had a follow up appointment with scan 6 weeks later to check everything was stetted and back to normal, after that. I was able to start the FET medication on day 1 of my next period which was January 3rd and just had my embryo transfer yesterday.

so in all I had my withdrawal bleed then one normal period before being able to start meds on the 2nd normal period. I suppose it may depend on your clinic protocol for follow up etc.

Thank you. That’s really helpful. EC on Monday so hopefully my clinic will give me some more info on their policy. Hopefully I’ll get an embryo to transfer.
