BFP but bleeding heavily after FET transfer?

I had an IVF FET transfer of 2 embryos, I started bleeding 8dpt, had a few small clots 9dpt, I’m currently on day 11(after transfer) but the bleeding hasn’t stopped & it’s like a medium flow period. I tested BFP positive today but feel very down with all this heavy bleeding.

Anyone else who’s had a similar thing happen to them & went onto have a successful pregnancy? I’m very nervous, hope someone can advice.

Many thanks

Not had it but wonder if one has stuck and one hasnt which may be why you are bleeding? When is your office test from the hospital?

Hi thank you for your message. I spoke to my doctor today, he thinks that’s such a slim chance. They will most likely do an hcg test tomorrow but nothing confirmed yet.

This is what happened to me. I had a bleed after transfer of 2 embryos but I managed to hold onto one. Hope it’s the case for u too, will keep everything crossed xx

Hi Sarah,

Thank you for sharing your experience, I’d be over the moon if I could end that way 🙏 How much bleeding did you have and for how long if you don’t mind me asking? I’ve been bleeding since 9/10 days post transfer, I’m on day 13. Still testing positive.

Thanks xx

I was 5 weeks and bled on and off for just under a week. It started off quite heavy with clots and then slowed down to just on wiping. I was so anxious just having to wait til the viability scan it was awful. The clinic wouldn’t do bloods. It started at work so I went home and just literally put my feet up for the week until it stopped. I really hope it works out well for you as I know how hard it is to not fear the worse. Feel free to message me if u need to chat x

That must have been really stressful. I’ve been bleeding for the last 4 days, it’s really heavy during the day but stops at night.. Spoke to an other doctor at my clinic today, she said there is no point in doing blood tests or a scan yet. She told me to continue with the medication until Friday and repeat pregnancy test and that we’ll go from there.

So more waiting for me & I can’t help but feel so anxious :/

I really feel for you, the waiting and the not knowing is the hardest part. Keeping everything crossed for you 🤞🤞xx

I am sorry to hear this. I am in exactly the same situation. I had a FET of 2 embryos on the 31st August. Had a little spotting on day 10 - tested and got a strong positive. Tested again day 12 still strong positive. Today (day 13) bleeding has turned red and is much more - like a medium flow period, tested again and still a strong positive. OTD is tomorrow so will test again in the morning and ring clinic for advice. Have cried on and off all day - it's such a hard time. Would prefer a clear negative at least would know where I am then. Hope you are doing ok xxxx

Hi Beps,

I’m sorry to hear you’re going through the same pain. I had my embryo transfer on 1st September.

Called my ivf doctor today, as my bleeding really increased and unfortunately he thinks it’s all over for me, he thinks it’s either an early miscarriage or an ectopic 🤧 although I don’t have the typical pains associated with ectopic yet..

I‘ll update when I find out more. Wishing for a miracle for us all 🙏

Hi Mitiy. Oh dear, what a worry for you. My feelings are that you must remember that you had 2 little embryos transferred. It could be down to the fact that you have lost one of them, and you would be amazed at the amount of bleeding that can occur. All you can do is rest when you can, keep up with any prescribed medication , and do your test on the day recommended by your clinic. Thinking of you. Diane

Thank you so much Diane, will update on Friday as doctor said to continue with the medications and to re-do pregnancy test at home 🙏

Update:

Unfortunately it’s bad news :(

I had a scan at my clinic on Tuesday, there was nothing in my uterus but urine test is still positive so we are worried it can be an ectopic but they didn’t do hcg blood tests. Clinic will re-scan on Tuesday. At this point I just want this pregnancy test to show negative so I can move on and try again.... but I’m emotionally drained and so worried as I’m still bleeding since 8dpt September 🤧
