*sensitve* positive waiting for period to start egg collection number 2... need some guidance

Hi ,Im so sorry to anyone reading this that gets a stab of pain or anything bad but im freaking out. I have been waiting to start meds for our 2nd egg collection following 1 failure and 2 miscarriagea with icsi.

I have today tested, mainly to hurry it along as i always tend to pee on a stick then aunt flo pops her head around the corner. It has come back positive on two tests. I have never had a natural bfp and previous pregnancy been supported by my clinic with pessaries Prednisolone ( i have an auto immune) and clexane and aspirin. I rang my clinic and im currently waiting for a call back but the nurse said as this had happened on its own they might not want to mess with anything. Has anyone had a similar experience and can give any advice?

They have said they cant help really as cant prescribe anything as its not an embryo transfer etc but have been helpful and recommended speak to my gp for a prescription for steroids and thyroid check . Thank you xxx

Congratulations lovely, it is a real 🤯 isn’t it?? We had this when getting ready to start our 7th fet. My clinic did say to take 2 cyclogest a day which luckily I already had loads of in stock. If you do think you’d feel more comfortable with progesterone support maybe speak to your EPU? I went to mine for a scan at 6 weeks and they said due to my history (infertility & 2 miscarriages) they’d have prescribed me the same dose. I’ve no advice on steroids sorry. Thank you for your reply, yeah mind blown situation. Our gp has given me my prescription for steroids but point blank refused blood test or anything else and just said go private if you want. He was quite rude really nevermind! I have ordered a test and booked an early scan at 7 weeks fingers crossed we get there !! Xx

oh that’s good that you’ve got steroids. Shame your dr couldn’t have been a little more caring though! We had similar where no one wanted to tell me when to stop my progesterone - midwife said ask dr who prescribed, fertility clinic don’t want to know (as was NHS and they’d discharged me after telling me to start them) and GP was like how the hell do I know 🤦‍♀️ Loads of luck for your scan, it will be a long few weeks I imagine but you’ll get there xx

hi I conceived naturally after 3rd stims (as one round cancelled) but second egg collection , whilst waiting to start down regs for my next round. I didn’t test until 6 weeks have a massive testing phobia and was convinced I was menapausal! so I was then able to have a viability scan immediately. This meant I didn’t have any meds or anything to support as with my ivf transfer. My little miracle is now 10 months old. Wishing you all the best and hope this is your time.

Thank you for replying the gp has agreed to prednisalone as they had a letter on file from my clinic but havent offered any other support and refused point blank a blood test I have ordered a private one and have booked an early scan for 7 weeks if we get there . So scary but totally amazing we are in the position , i too thought i was popping into early menopause snd thought flipping typical !! Just need to keep calm as i can now .

so interesting that you thought the same too ! It’s so unbelievable you can’t accept that as a possibility. I had a similar experience too. After 3 fail trasfers, I got pregnant naturally. However, I continued by progestrone the same dose of my trasfers.Now my daughter is 7 months old.
