Hi All. Has anyone experienced taking 3 pregnancy tests and no control line showing up on any? I’m starting to wonder how I can get weeing on a stick so wrong.
The third one I did had a negative result (but still no control) but the first two, nothing happened. I did them in the morning and followed the instructions.
This was our one and only change as embryos have been tested for a faulty gene I carry so this is beyond disappointing. I’m sure it’s negative given the third result but cannot understand why there are no control lines showing.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Unfortunately I haven't got any light to shed, but just want to say I empathise with you and am very sorry to hear this. I'm in a similar situation here, with just one embryo I was able to transfer after six rounds of IVF, and my test this afternoon on Day 13 was negative. I'll try to make certain tomorrow morning, but I think Day 13 is late enough. Anyway, enough about me - I'm sending you strength and love at such a difficult time. I'm just going through a process of getting my head around the fact there were no guarantees and maybe there are other paths for me that will be fulfilling and will bring me happiness, even though it's not the result I want after such a long journey and about 70k spent!! It's a very tough process.l and not for the faint-hearted. Take care of yourself xx
thank you for taking the time to reply given everything you are going through too. I’ve done another test which worked and was negative so I’m not going to hold out hope now. It’s so upsetting and I’m angry really but I know that won’t help anything. I’ll get to a better space. Sending good thoughts to you and I’m sorry you’ve not had a better outcome too.x
Well, I would imagine we now have to go through various stages of grief, and I know that anger is one of them. I'm a bit shell-shocked, and think I might still be at the stage of denial... Wishing you all the best processing it in your own way. It's really not easy xx
I would get some more tests from a recognised good brand of tests and test why peeing into a clean pot/tray etc and dipping the stick in (the alternative way of testing mentioned on the box). It could be the batch you bought was faulty. I had done loads and loads of pregnancy tests and almost all were negative (except my one pregnancy which ended in MMC) and I have never had done a test where no control line has come up. I would therefore try again with some different tests.
Hi, what I know is that no control line does not mean negative or positive, but that something failled with the test. It has happened to me before. It could be that the test is expired or that you used too much liquid. For me peeing on a glass or a paper cup is a lot easier and more reliable than directly on the stick. Haven't had faulty tests since I do that.
