I have just taken a pregnancy test to rule it out but as i have been late the last two previous months i expected it to appear negative and was shocked to see there was a faint line my period is a day late how long did it take anyone else to get a strong line after a faint line

Did you use First Response Early Result? If not, I would recommend purchasing one, & doing another test on Wednesday with your first wee of the day. Good luck! Keep us posted! 😊

I can recommend first response, test again a couple of days later or everyday like I did to see if they get darker! You could go see your gp and get a blood test to fully confirm xx

Congratulations on your positive test. A faint positive is all you'd expect early on so I'd definitely test again in a few days and you will hopefully see the line getting darker. Having been pregnant 5 times now (4 previous miscarriages and now 33 weeks ) I feel I feel I am an expert at early pregnancy tests!

They all got darker despite the outcome positive or negative so don't get too obsessed with what it means, you are pregnant now so you have every chance or things working out. Wishing you lots of luck xxxx

Thank you i was considering making an appointment with dr as i am very nervous as ive had a pelvic infection when i was younger so know i am at higher risk for ectopic so the cramping im getting is making me a little paranoid

Cramping can be normal (I've never had any but lots of women get it)

If you're having pain/ cramps definitely see your GP/ EPAU and they will arrange for an early scan for you.

Hopefully it will be good news. Fingers crossed for you xx

Congratulations! My faint positive, just on a cheap strip test, took at least a week to strengthen - I was around 5 weeks when I got the stronger one xx
