I just wanted to create this post to reassure anyone that does the ridiculous thing that I did this morning and continue to POAS.
Yesterday 27/04 my first response test with FMU had a dark test line and a light control line. When i stupidly did one again this morning at 28/04, that control line was darker again. So what did i do, i tested again later and it was also dark, so i thought oh no, my hcg is dropping...here we go again.
I absolutely freaked myself out. So then later this afternoon after id held off going to the bathroom, I tested twice again using the same sample of urine (you know, just to be sure the result was the same). This time, the control line was suddenly lighter again! (But one test was slightly darker than the other, even using the same sample). Clearly my FMU today was very diluted for some reason. The picture attached shows the 4 tests i did today in order from top to bottom.
What's the lesson? Stop testing! It's just torture and creates too much uncertainty and anxiety that isn't necessary. This is especially hard when you have experienced losses, but I think i have finally learnt my lesson.

Hey! I was literally the same as you.. once I got pregnant I couldn’t believe it and had to test every day and was reading into it so much when the lines were slightly lighter/darker than the previous day.
Your tests look good as the HCG is so strong that it is taking ink from the test line.
I didn’t stop testing until I had the heartbeat scan and although my partner said I’m nuts for testing every day (jokingly); it was the only reassurance it gave me xx
Yes, I’m 16 weeks now but still having private scans every 2 weeks to ensure everything is ok. I didn’t have any pregnancy symptoms whatsoever so made it even harder to believe ICSI actually worked!
That sounds reasonable, it's so hard to feel like it is real especially when you don't have symptoms. Im about 5.5 weeks so very early and i literally feel nothing. No idea if anything is even going on in there lol no nausea, no cravings, no cramps, no breast sensitivity...nothing. Is that kind how you were too? We had ICSI also, first round was in late December last year but m/c at 7ish weeks unfortunately. This is round 2!
During week 6/7 just before the heartbeat scan I completely lost my appetite for like 6 days and didn’t really want to eat anything. I also had very slight nausea but I think that was more stuck in my head because I didn’t eat much. After heartbeat scan I started seeing weird dreams every night and that kinda reassures me that I’m pregnant lol. I literally look forward to falling asleep to see what my brain can make up this time.
Best of luck and do not overthink about not having symptoms as a bad thing.
I know you’re thinking that you’re only 5.5 weeks and every day seems to be such a drag; but before you notice you’ll have your scan!
Thanks for the support! I have also lost my appetite, this happened to me last time as well but I have put that down to feeling stressed and consumed by it all! Wishing you all the best with your pregnancy
