Had my last attempt to have a baby yesterday with a FET. They tested progesterone and reported back (after transfer had happened), that levels are incredibly low at just 7!
I am beyond fuming with the clinic and have yet to receive any suitable answer when I question why on earth they didn’t test levels before thee transfer (I had low levels in my last PUL). I’m also so annoyed at myself for not even pushing for it.
To think we’ve likely wasted our last chance on something that could’ve been rectified if I’d just had a blood test prior to fet is such an awful feeling.
Is there any glimmer of hope for me (progesterone has since been upped), but everything I’ve read has said that levels need to be decent (50 seems to be the golden number) for implantation to occur. I’ve not seen any success stories where levels have been that low, so I’m also being very realistic and preparing myself for the inevitable.
Just wanted to say I understand the frustration and so annoying to find out something that would have been helpful earlier. Please don't blame yourself- feel free to have a rant at the clinic that always makes me feel better.
I was told that if transfer was yesterday and you've increased progesterone today that will give you what you need to get those levels up and it's not too late. Implantation may not always be the evening of transfer.
Totally understand you wanting to manage expectations but hope this one surprises you and will have everything crossed for you.
thank you for your reply. I’m really trying to hold on to that. They were also frozen at day 4, not day 5, so I’m also hoping I’ve got an extra 24 hours before implantation.
Hi Lovely. I posted about this around Easter time, was gutted to find my progesterone had only been around 14 on transfer day. I was angry with the clinic and with myself, as it was a FET when i was only on cyclogest. I knew myself that I needed lubion with transfers, but we'd skipped it as we were mimicking my ERA protocol and the clinic that did those tests wanted to base it only on cyclogest. My levels were ok for the ERA, but when we tried the same for the real transfer, it just didn't absorb, apparently. In fact I started injecting lubion myself even before my consultant confirmed the test results (my transfer was over a bank holiday weekend so if I'd waited for the results to confirm I was indeed low on transfer day, it'd be day 4 or 5 by the time I could try to do anything! I knew by the hormone headache I had that my level was too low). Long story short, I am afraid that FET didn't work for me BUT -and this is why I'm posting! - lots of lovely ladies shared stories of having the same situation, upping progesterone quickly, and getting a BFP at the end of it. I definitely think if they found this fast and you upped your dose, there's every reason to think things will be well xx

I’m clinging onto a bit of hope - as I’ve done with all my previous cycles and transfers, but each and every time there is always something new that isn’t as it should and things never work out, so it difficult not to be pessimistic.
I’m on crinone twice a day and they added tablets 200mg twice a day (we don’t have the injections here in Australia).
Not a lot I can do now - I was tempted to just put loads of the crinone suppositories in last night (haha!), refrained from doing so.
My progesterone was 190 two days before transfer and only 29 the day after transfer - taking the same medication and I have twins from that transfer. It takes a day or two for implantation to start so, as long as you have increased now, you should be okay. It might be worth monitoring your progesterone for the next few weeks because it does fluctuate.

Hi I understand it is frustrating, I am going for another try after Christmas so I will be asking more questions about progesterone as mine was high but always seems to drop I have asked about progesterone pressies but they keep telling me I they only give to women who has suffered miscarriage I don't think that is right I will be asking alot more questions on my next appointment apparently the progesterone pressies help support your body so I just don't understand why during my rounds they aren't needed I'm so sorry I am of no help but I will definitely be asking again xxxxxx
it’s given as standard here, mine was upped following last miscarriage but for some reason my body just isn’t absorbing it enough. Good luck for you next try
There’s not a lot more they can do now. I’ll just be having a couple of blood tests in this 2ww and hope that it risen. Really, I know it’s too late, but too early to confirm that.
Unfortunately, for us this was our last attempt, so I won’t be having any further tests to find the route cause 😔
What are the units that your clinic uses? In Spain they use Ng/ml and normal range is 11.2 to 90.0 ng/mL. In UK we are using nmol/L and normal range is 35.62 to 286.20 nmol/L for first trimester. Please don't get confused and maybe panicking unnecessary. I understand your worries, I also been there and ended up taking 1200mg/day of progesteron pessaries.
I wish it were measured in ng/ml, but I’m in Australia so it’s nmol/L. They really upped my progesterone, but unfortunately we also don’t have access to the im injections here so it’s the tablets which aren’t remotely as effective. I know it’s definitely increased as have symptoms but im worries it hasn’t increased enough and didn’t increase in time. Not much more I can do but wait now
Well, it went up to 50. Which is on the low side, but much better… only thing I don’t know is if it increased enough at time of implantation. Back to the horrendous waiting game
