So my fertility consultant has advised me to take this supplement in 75mg form .
After googling it doesn’t seem great if you have endometriosis.
I have got a blood test booked at my doctors Friday as I wanted to check my levels , can’t get hold of my consultant surgeon I’m under for my endo care I keep leaving messages !
My concern is I don’t want to make my cyst on my ovary grow bigger .
Has any one taken this with endometriosis?
And has improved on success of ivf ?

Hi Jade, my clinic advise not to take DHEA at all, even without endo, I genuinely can't remember why they said don't but it made complete sense at the time. I have severe endometriosis so completely decided against it after doing more research.Really interested to see other thoughts on this!
thanks for your reply , yes I have severe endometriosis and adenomyosis aswell .
Awaiting surgery too for this but told to crack on with ivf .
My first round my follicles didn’t grow enough so this is what he told me to take.
I don’t know how long my surgery will be so really can’t be messing up my hormones any more than they are messed up and I don’t trust doctors completely.
Yes just would like to know for us endo sufferers x
I was really interested to read Sharbertn s experience because I also had severe (stage 4) endo when going through my first 3 cycles. I took DHEA for about 6 weeks leading up to my 3rd cycle and had my biggest number of eggs collected (from 6 to 18. 10 fertilised and ended up with 6 blasts and a live birth). Three years on my endo has not returned.
My DHEA wasn’t prescribed. I bought it online having read the book It Starts with the Egg which has supplement plans for endo and advanced maternal age.
Just wanted to agree with fifikoko, I just recently had my 6th egg collection at the age of 40 and after 3.5 months on Dhea I got 24 eggs and 6 high quality (day 5) blastocysts... I also took melatonin (3mg) for a month before egg collection (also recommended from it starts with the egg). I would definitely give it a go. If your levels are normal just take 50mg per day instead of 75mg... good luck!
