DHEA / Ubiquinol/ Melatonin & other supplements

Hi

Has anyone experienced delay in ovulation/ period when taking supplements.

I was advised by my consultant to start taking them prior to my next cycle however around about this time I normally get tender breast/ back ache etc right up until my period arrives. However there is no sign of tender breast what so ever.

Im getting the odd dizzy spell & my lower abdomen feels a little strange plus going to the toilet more frequently.

Im just wondering if the supplements are the cause if this as Im normally like clock work.

Has anyone experienced their body changing or delayed ovulation/ period due to supplements.

I definitely need my period to arrive on time so I can start my cycle

Any experiences / comments are welcome

Thanks 🥰xx

Hi Lil, I’ve heard a few people saying that the Pregnacare supplement has played havoc with their cycles. Not sure if you’re taking this one? X

I guess its another waiting game 😊x

Yes! Since starting Ubiquinol 2 months ago, ovulation has moved to day 17 for both those cycles, from a fairly consistent day 14. Can only think it's ubiquinol, I have tried Dr Google and others say the same but I'd love to know why? Not taking dhea or melatonin but am taking omega 3, vit d bud fertility, inositol and alpha lipoic... Always open to trying a 'wonder' formula! Would be interested if anyone has any 'science' to why... or if this is just coincidence.

I'm also waiting for next cycle to start- hopefully next weekend.

Good luck.

Hi. I think these are having the same effect on me.

Ive tried googling but don’t seem to get a definitive answer. I guess they work differently on everyone x

Hi, I’m not sure about delayed ovulation but I tried DHEA for a month or so and it seemed to delay my period. I was also taking Melatonin so stopped taking both of them and my period arrived. I’ve since started the Melatonin again and it doesn’t seem to affect it. Like you, I didn’t find much information on it. I’m usually very regular but it was delayed by nearly a week which really messes with your head when you really want to get pregnant!

Hello, I actually had that happen to me. I've been taking Pregnacare and that didn't have an effect. But when I started taking Ubiquinol, that month my period was 17 days late. I am usually very regular. I couldn't work it out and thought perhaps I was pregnant but sadly not. I am not sure it is due to the ubiquinol but don't know what else could have caused it. Perhaps stress but I've been stressed before. I am hoping this month it will go back to normal (26-29 days). Have you been taking DHEA?

HiYes. In taking both. Luckily my period arrived. I just need it to arrive on time this month too so i can start my treatment. With it being the Christmas break and clinics being closed it can cause a delay x

Hi, same here. Upped my dosage of Ubiqinol last month and no signs of period yet - was supposed to have been on around 25th Dec and nothing. In fact I don’t feel any symptoms of period or anything. Very strange. The only thing I changed was upping the dose of ubiquinol to 400mg daily. 🤷🏻‍♀️
