Cervical mucas query

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for increasing your cervical fluid around ovulation time? Me and my partner are trying to conceive naturally and I've been diagnosed with Hashimoto's, which I'm hoping has been the reason we've not been successful (trying for almost 2 years, I'm 40). Now I'm taking levothyroxine, as well as various other vitamins and supplements, so hopefully that issue is getting better (although it never seemed to stop ovulation, and all my hormone levels seemed fine, plus all the other basic, free NHS tests). But for the past 6 months of so I've noticed my cervical fluid has decreased, and now I v rarely get any egg white stuff, just creamy and slightly watery. Is this just age? Could it be connected to the levothyroxine maybe? (or is this just me conjuring up more problems!) Is there anything to try to get the eggwhite stuff back? I've tried cough syrup (guafenesin) but didn't notice any difference.

Hi Dear,

The cervical mucus decreased could be due to the age as we grow old the oestrogen levels in our body decreases not always but it does which the reason for mucus and the women who are in menopause or perimenopause can start experiencing it.

If you want to have oestrogen levels in body you can eat yams they are proven to increase oestrogen in the body which is responsible for good skin/youthfulness.

hi, I have been taking starflower oil gel capsules for four months for the same thing. I started with high strength evening primrose but found the starflower was much better. 😊

 brilliant thank you, both. Have ordered some starflower oil capsules for my next cycle and I'll get eating some yams.
