So I've reached 14 weeks 5 days with my Twins ππΌand extremely anxious after i was told by my hospital (Chelsea & Westminster) do not put cervical stitch or give hormone assistance when it' a twin pregnancy. I will be closely monitored in terms of cervix length and was given baby aspirin to help with heart attacks/ blood thinning etc. Just playing on my mind, no idea how my body will react this time and am growing at a fast pace. Babies are even 2 weeks bigger than the norm, had a Harmony test too to ensure no downs etc (please don't judge us, we are only human) and all came back with very low risks for both babies as well as the NHS nucal tests etc. Taking it very easy too...I lost babies 7 years ago due to no cervical stitch but have also heard it's not for everyone and it has it's negatives and positives...So, anyone else experience this or have any advice? Any info, stories or anything is welcome.
Hi Hun, just wanted to say good luck, hope everything works out ok. I'm also at Chelsea and Westminster and have to say the staff are fab there. Iv got my egg collection coming up. Did you do the castor oil packages while you stimmed aswell? I'm sure your in safe hands xxxxx
l've not yet been diagnosed with IC, just waiting till I progress in the pregnancy and see how it goes. Did you carry twins or single baby? I lost babies 7 years ago so you just never know how things may go this time around. Thank you for the note π€
Sometimes a stitch isn't the best option but I would request to be seen often and have CL checks, different hospitals have different methods so you could discuss options to put your mind at rest, such as progesterone or bed rest.
If you have any questions feel free to PM me and good luck x
Hi Fatooli28. In my early midwifery days, e started inserting Shirodkar (cervical) stitches for incompetent cervixes, and my or my what a huge difference it made to saving pregnancies! It was such a breakthrough, so it's great to hear that those who need one or even "may" need one have the procedure done. They will look after you carefully and monitor your little ones lots, so please feel you're in safe hands. Just wanted to wish you well with the rest of your pregnancy and for a safe delivery of two healthy babies. Thinking of you. Diane
