Bad headache after egg collection

Hi everyone,

I had my egg retrieval yesterday and all went well thank God. 7 eggs retrieved which i was delighted about considering my age. This is my third time having this procedure, and my stomach has been fine this time thankfully. Just a little tender and slow to walk but nothing bad at all. I have however developed a bad headache that came on lastnight and is still here, even after taking paracetamol.

Just wondering if this is normal? Or if anyone has experienced this after EC?

Hello. First of all, well done, that’s an amazing number of eggs. You must be so relieved. Are you now on progesterone? If so, that may be why you have headaches. I had really bad migraines which lasted quite a few days before they slowly subsided. Keep on top of pain relief but they say no anti inflammatory medication. Also lots of fluids, at least 2 litres. Remember to drink lots of water and rest up. Hopefully with the paracetamol and water things will settle down.

As posts say could be due to medication and maybe stress too. Try to take things easy and drink plenty of fluids as dehydration can also cause headaches

Thank you all for your replies. Still suffering with them, but not as severe as the first 2 days so hopefully it might settle. yes it is probably the meds a I'm I'm on progesterone.trying to drink as much water as I can.
