My clinic suggested I take Humira and intralipids as part of My FET cycle because I have a high NK cell count. I'm researching this, HFEA isn't convinced and give it a red rating
I would like to do everything possible to give this embryo a chance (it's the only one I have), but I feel reluctant to go down the immunology route when it's so eye watering expensive and discredited by some.
Wondering about other people's experiences of this...did you get reactions or even get ill? (Dampening the immune system doesn't feel like a good idea!) Did you have a positive experience?

I dont have any experience with this but I have questioned whether I have NK cells myself but my clinic won’t test until my NHS funding is complete. However I have seen many success stories on here after finding out nk cell is higher and then being on immune suppressants of some sort. For example if I was in your situation, I would go ahead with it as nk cells attack the embryo as it sees it as a foreign body. I’ve also been on immune suppressants for other autoimmune stuff and I felt no different on them at all,l. Completely your choice at the end of the day and what you feel comfortable with, I hope your next round is a successful one x x
I was convinced I had nkc. However, after paying the clinic to do a thyroid blood test with antibodies it seemed my antibodies were in there thousands. I have Hashimoto - gluten antibodies. Took 2 years to get the numbers down and I was also taking steroids for 12 weeks to give our final fet a chance. Worth trying a thyroid blood test with antibodies, or staying on a low dose of steroids possibly. Afraid I don't know about the other. Best wishes
I went through a similar thought process and decided that the important thing was if we walked away unsuccessful would we have any doubts about not trying something else. Only you know what your limit is and if after reading the evidence, then the experiences of others you think its worth it or not then that is totally the right thing for you xx
For what it's worth we decided not to test the NKC as didn’t want to have Intralipids but we did have some other immune tests as the treatment for that were aspirin and Inhixa injections and Prednisolone steroids and I felt the side effects and what did to my body were worth a try. I also went Gluten free and took selenium, did a course of vaginal good bacteria.
Personally the ERA test I did showing the implantation window I feel was the big game changer but I'm now 5 weeks so who knows but hoping all the other bits will be helping keep me pregnant.
Wish you the very best and good luck with whatever you choose x
Hi my son was born after the immunology treatment (aspirin + inhixa + steroids + Intralipid). I had several miscarriages and have high NK cells. It is better to eliminate all the known problems before you transfer the last embryo.
I have I had NK cells that showed good response only with Immunoglobulin. I took the chance and had successfull 2 nd IVF .
My friend had high NK cells fortunately her one showed good response to steroids , while she was waiting NHS ivf she conceived naturally and started on prednisolone early and delivered at term without any complications.
