8 weeks pregnant via IVF and experiencing brown spotting, is this normal?

spotting has just started few days ago since reducing the dosage of progesterone. Still taking progesterone and estrogen but not as high as before. Is brown spotting normal in this case?

hey, I’m only 4 or so weeks but when I had my nurse meeting after positive they said spotting is normal and to notify them if it is bright red blood.

Are you using pessaries vaginally? That can cause spotting.

I had spotting until close to two weeks and my spotting ranged from pink, brown to bright red. It was terrible. I eventually went on progestorone in oil shots. The bleeding finally tempered down and was able to carry my pregnancy to 35weeks

Hello, spotting can be normal, but best to consult with your nurse. I'm thinking you are spotting because of you reducing the progesterone. My clinic only suggest reducing or stopping from 12 weeks.

hi, my clinic said brown spotting is old blood that could have been caused before your positive, so not to worry. They told me to call if it went bright red or i had cramping. It did go pink and red a couple of times but thats because the pesseries scratched me a little and i didnt realise.

Reduction in progesterone shouldnt cause spotting, as your womb will start to produce enough to keep the pregnancy going 😊
