I started Provera this morning and have a question about dosage.
The IVF nurse sent me a document about the timeline of my treatment, but instead of Norethisterone as is on the doc, I’m using Provera before the stim phase. She did tell me about this change, but we didn’t talk about the dose. If I was taking Northisterone, the dose would have been 5mg twice a day, but for Provera the dose on the box is 10mg twice a day. Does this sound about right?
For context, I have Illness Anxiety which I’m positively working through with CBT, but the patient information in the Provera box on side effects has sadly been a trigger for my anxiety this weekend.

Hi, I've just recently finished taking Provera. First time I took it I was on 10mg per day. However, at my baseline scan they found a hormone producing cyst and so put me back on Provera but this time at 20mg per day. Best to check with your clinic what dosage you should be on as it can be prescribed in different dosages.
Hi, I took provera at 10mg once per day (2 5mg pills each time) it did not stop my period and apparently at my clinic this has been common and so dose has now been doubled - sorry not sure if that is in one sitting or once morning and mince afternoon. As it is different for all I would suggest calling the clinic.
Thanks, it’s reassuring to know that 10mg twice a day definitely is a dose others are given. I’ll call the clinic when it reopens this morning to double check.
