Have any of you had the Prostap injection instead of Buserelin and found your period was delayed afterwards?
If so, how delayed was it?
The clinic said it can be delayed but I’ve got my first scan with them next week and I would like my period before then but it doesn’t appear to be in sight!
Injection was 12 days ago and period should of started five days ago.
many thanks

Hi, I had prostap on Sat 28th May and then my period started on Sunday 5th June.If they’ve advised that your period could be delayed then perhaps ask them how much delayed. Fingers crossed it arrives before your scan xx
Thank you ever so much for coming back to me, I will call them tomorrow for some advice. It should have started on Sunday without the injection and now I find myself on Wednesday with no symptoms of it coming! I thought it was a couple of days ago but now nothing!
So frustrating! You can’t win with this wild game - you are either thrilled your period hasn’t arrived thinking you may be pregnant or peed off it hasn’t arrived! 😂
Did you need to of had your period to be scanned?
So pleased to hear you got a positive result, I hope they see a beautiful heartbeat next week and it was just too early this week xx
Thank you for your kind words! From what I can remember I had my period and it lasted a bit longer than normal and I was spotting for a few days after too but they told me that was normal.
You are so right, if only periods arrived when and if we wanted them to!
On my second cycle we used prostap and I strongly remember freaking out that my period was delayed and got really anxious that my lining wouldn't be at the desired mm for starting stimms. In the end my period was delayed 6 days past when I expected and it was just a light bleed, unlike my usual mammoth endo periods and with mininal usual PMS symptoms. Everything was perfect at my baseline scan. I know it's so easy to say but try not to worry, there are ways around it even if on rare occurrence your body doesn't respond perfectly here.
Thank you so much for your response, it means a great deal that you have taken the time to do so. Day six for me will be Saturday so I am hoping that it will be here by then - if not before!
It’s just so frustrating all this waiting to see if it is all going to be ok or not!
Your message is really reassuring, thank you again xx
The constant unknown is so, so hard in IVF, I completely agree. I found the Mindful IVF app great even though I don't usually use anything like that. Tbe guy's Irish accent may add therapeutic factor too 😄 not sure if you've come across this app yet but the icon is like a little yellow cloud or brain shape!? with light green headphones on. Good luck with your cycle! 🤞 xx
