I had a Prostap injection to start my FET process then everything was cancelled. I’m having the hot flush side effects bad, i know they can last a few months but was expecting AF on Sunday and had the feeling she was on her way but still nothing.
Anyone else left waiting? I want her to come so I know my cycles when clinic opens again. (I know that’s not going to be soon) xxx
Hey 👋🏼 I have had a prostrap twice and then cycle cancelled ie no meds after the prostrap to take over my cycle. Once cos my smear came back with pre cancerous cells and once cos the clinic messed up. After the initial bleed that the injection brings on it took several months for me to get another period on both occasions. For one of them the clinic eventually had to give me tablets to restart them after 3 months of missed periods. Every month though I had the cramps and the hormones, just not the bleed. It basically brings on the menopause and can take a couple of months to leave your system xx
I was told it’s a menopause thing so understood that, really just want my cycle back, I hate waiting in it. So from your experience I shouldn’t wait on it? Xx
I was waiting on it to get started again and it took a few months. The nurses said they would test my hormones after a couple months to see what was happening and if I needed a kick start. One of the times I did. I think it’s different for everyone but I googled loads (cos I was keen to get started on treatment again) and looks like a month or 2 delay was pretty common. It’s used for endometriosis symptoms as well I believe to stop periods for a bit so that would make sense xx

Hello I also had a cancelled cycle as you know I Think I spoke to you about it my withdrawal bleed didn’t take long to come but my actual period took another 5/6 weeks to come after that bleed it took ages and it was so sore and heavy hopefully it comes soon for you 🤞I am tracking ovulation this month so hopefully I am back to normal too x

Yeah what Cinderella said I had to take progesterone too then stop it to start a bleed the cycle after that was super late and I know I honestly can’t wait for all this to be over and start treatment again I read it won’t mess up with peoples waiting time’s it will be where we all left off so fingers crossed that’s the case xxx
There is no one to ask just now. I got injection on 1st March so it’s not been long so I will hang on a few more weeks and if I’m concerned I could email them and see is someone gets back to me. What type of progesterone did you get?
It was cyclogest they told me to continue with the pragynova and take them for 5 days and stop them on a certain day I think I bled the following week yeah just see how it goes how did you find the prostap I couldn’t sleep at night taking it and the thing is when I start my treatment again I’ve to have another injection of it but least I am going to be on a shorter protocol fingers crossed my lining plays ball this time xx
I didn’t get to any other appointment so didn’t get the tablets but have Cyclogest from my failed transfer before this. I they advised me to take it at least I have it. Xx

Prostap usually brings on menopause for around 4 weeks. When I couldn't transfer due to a thin lining I got given progesterone to take for a few days which brought on a withdrawal bleed. However I'm guessing they're just allowing the drug to come out of your body naturally.xx
Yea, it’s natural withdrawal so giving it time x
Hi MumofaSpaniel, did you have the one month or the 3 months Prostap injection? I had the 3 mths one and the side effect is horrible. Having bad headaches, on and off insomnia and hot flushes. My ivf also was cancelled.
Hi Sezvic! I just had 1 I was due to get nasal spray and tablets the week I got cancelled! So 💩!! I am hot flushing all the time and sleeping issues but wouldn’t say insomnia x
Hey lady. I took my horrid shot on 1st March too! 7 days later had a 14 day death period and I'm now on cycle day 34 with no period in sight - just constant hot flushes - tears and anger - and zero sex drive - which isn't great for my marriage! Let me know how you get on x
I have no sex drive either and if I do go for it, it feels so strange. Not for you but it’s good to know someone is going through the same! Will let you know how things go! Xx
