Antibiotics in FET cycle - can I refuse?

Hi There, I would really like to avoid taking any more antibiotics, the nurse credibly mentioned I don’t HAVE to take them but didn’t go into reasons why and I didn’t ask. I can’t recall if I had any for my first FET it was over a year ago now. So have any of you had a FET without taking anyibiotics just incase? The last thing I want is a pelvic infection but antibiotics are also giving me unpleasant side effects that I’d really like to avoid.

if you didn’t take them how was it, what did your nurse of doctor say about taking them or not taking them? Did it all go fine or not?

Our clinic mandate you take them, it’s just one big dose on one day. Gave me terrible upset tummy for a day but was ok after that. They say it’s to clear up any risk of infection and when I read the paperwork it seemed to be targeted at STIs like chlamydia (even tho I’ve never had one!) x

Yes this big dose you take in one go is the main problem. They then switched it out for doxycycline which didn’t seem to affect me as much but it is messing with my microflora and the effects of that last quote long while you try to bring back the balance. It’s very time co aiming and annoying.
