just after some advice on time between a failed fresh IVF and a FET... I got my BFN on Tuesday (2 days ago) the clinic said I would have a follow up appointment the end of July but they rang me today and said as I have frozen blastocysts and we know we want a FET, I don't need a consultant appointment and the nurse did a telephone consent for a FET cycle, she also said I can do it as early as my next cycle! I haven't had a period yet since my BFN so quite surprised by this. I would start meds on day 21 and have the transfer that cycle. I also need to decide between 1 or 2 blastocysts to transfer - advice appreciated! They are also appealing to get it NHS funded as I was unwell when I had my transfer. My mind is in overdrive as I'm only just coming to terms with the BFN! Personally, emotionally I think the sooner the better, the thought of waiting till July just for an appointment was really stressing me out!

FET following failed fresh cycle...
Hey Hun, I'm so sorry to hear about your BFN it's such kick in face isn't it. I've been advised to have at least one cycle between so sounds like we've been told the same advice. But it's also a question of how you feel mentally and physically and if you are ready to do it again. We got our 3rd BFN in April and have one Frostie to consider. This time round I really struggled with the result and also got myself really upset with weight gain over the last year. We've decided to wait 3 months so I can get myself back in the game mentally and physically.
1 or 2 transfer depends on how many you have in the freezer, how old you are, what quality they are etc. The main decision is are you up for twins? I went for 2 embie transfers every time as if that miracle happened I would be delighted.
good luck with your transfer, this could be your moment ✨✨ xx
hi hun, thanks for your advice and sorry about your BFN's too ☹ it was quite a shock as we had a good cycle up to then, was all looking so positive. We have 4 blastocysts frozen, ranging from grade 5ab to 4c and I am 34. We are both happy with the possibility of twins, although the risks associated do worry me. I think mentally the sooner the better as its all such a waiting game! 4years ttc, 9 months referral to treatment, then we thought months to our next try, so to get that all yesterday was amazing. My only worry is whether my body is ready as I haven't had a period yet and i was knocked around last time with an infection post egg collection (all cleared now) if I start on day 21 of my next cycle, it'll be July before I have a FET anyway so gives me a while to recover. Best of luck with your next cycle! 🍀
After I our first full cycle failed at 7dp5dt I was told I had to wait 3 cycles before I could try for a frozen one as I had suffered mild OHSS and they wanted to give my body time to recover. My cycles can last anything from 30-43 days so having failed in August we didn't start again until January. At the start that felt like a lifetime but I was glad I gave my body a chance to recover.
It's really up to the dr and you, as to how you feel. You will know if your body feels a bit beaten up that maybe you aren't in the best place. But if you feel fine then go with it as I'm sure I heard somewhere that you can be more fertile after IVF?!
so, the clinic rang me this morning with the great news that the board have agreed to do a frozen cycle as part of my NHS funded cycle as I was unwell with my first transfer! So pleased, it obviously saves us a lot of money but also feels like a second chance. We have 4 frosties so still have options if this fails too. I can start on my next cycle too so no waiting around! Just have to decide between 1 or 2 blasts to transfer 😐 but have got time to think about that. Feeling so much more positive now, can see a glimmer at the end of the tunnel ☀
