I am currently on my first round of IVF, I have low AMH. Ive had my third injection, I have my first scan on Monday.
I was just wondering when people started to feel the effects of the medication? Any bloating, twinges etc? So far only my left ovary feels ‘heavy’ as such but nothing on other side.
As I have low AMH I do worry about low response so just wondered if lack of symptoms is normal I guess!
Thanks x

Hi! I think it really varies, some people feel lots of symptoms and others none at all. I personally started to feel very bloated around day 6 and generally quite tender in the pelvic area, but again it varies a lot. I'd try not to worry too much about presence/lack of symptoms, it's only by scanning that they can tell how you are responding. Good luck, it's such a stressful time make sure to be kind to yourself xxx
All the best with your treatment. My fingers are crossed for you.
Try not to over think your symptoms as they can change on a daily basis with ivf. What might be a good idea is to start a log by day of what’s happening to you body and how your feeling. That will give you a useful reference guide in case you ever need to go through it again. I started doing that halfway through my first cycle and I wish I’d done it sooner.
Thank you lovely! May i ask what your mood was like? I’ve been a right miserable bugger! Haha. Trying to figure out if that’s just me or the meds🤣Thank you for your advice xx
Bless you, the drugs are horrible. I struggled most at the start when I was just on buserline, as it makes me feel depressed. We are pumping ourselves with a lot of hormones so it’s bound to have an affect.
Keep looking after yourself and take one day at a time xxx
I started to feel bloated by day 10 but no other symptoms. I have pcos though. I think it’s different for different people tbh? I had my first scan at day 8 and said to the nurse I didn’t think it was working and had lots of follicles by then. Good luck with your scan!
Hey. I never really felt anything and had (what I think) is a massive haul of eggs. I also felt very little during prep for my FET or during my TWW. Like others have said, people all feel things differently and react in different ways so try not to examine how you feel too much. It seems to have little bearing on what’s going on inside.Good luck with your scans and for the process. 🤞🏽 For you!!
I never felt anything until around day 6. Around day 12 I was a hippo and desperately wanted the eggs out! Enjoy lack of symptoms and take a big breath xx
Hey, similar to you I have low AMH (0.4 when tested at 33). I had very few side effects on max dose of stims, just slightly bloated by the end. Sadly, I didn't respond well, with just one follicle. I don't think there is necessarily a link, though - some women experience no symptoms and then have ovaries full of glorious follicles! x
I have heard that on higher dose low AMH doesn’t respond as well. I was tested at 27 and was 5pmol. I know that isn’t the case for everyone but I do worry it will be the case for me! May i ask what dosage of stimms you were on? Sorry to hear you only managed one follicle, but they do say it only says a good one! X
Hey, I was on 450 units of Ovaleap. Sadly it didn't work out for me as although they retrieved an egg, the morphology was poor and it wouldn't fertilise. Donor eggs are going to be our way forward. Wishing you lots of luck! xx
Hi Lama,I’m sorry you felt this way. But I’m also relieved I’m not the only one! Im quite emotional, sometimes I laugh about it but other times I just cry for no reason really lol! Hope your all well x
