My FS has recommended a laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy together after 4 failed ivf stims and two miscarriages (one with ivf and one natural)
I don’t have any symptoms of endometriosis etc. so curious to know if anyone did these tests and found something they didn’t know about? Went on to have success etc.
I did have a bad D&C where they created a false passage but since had a CT abdominal and pelvic scan plus dye flushing uterus/tubes under ultrasound.
Im trying to rule out all possible explanations for my poor results outside of my age 38yrs and abnormal eggs as I have very low AMH.
Thanks xx

I'm doing my lap and hystero surgery tomorrow for the same reason. I also have no endometriosis symptoms but my doctor wants to make sure as it might be silent endo. I will keep you posted.
Hello darling. Did my lap and hysyero surgery yesterday, and they found some mild endo on my ovaries that was removed. My uterus is fine and clean. Stayed 2 hours in the operation room. Doctor check up next wednesday to see what the next step will be. I'm on pill now for 30 days to regulate my period. Doctor explained to me reg the endometriosis and that it affects getting pregnant but i couldn't ask too much questions as i was still under sedation effect 😅 Im on bed rest now recovering as i feel some pain after surgery and a lot of bloating.
I only had hysteroscopy afert 3 chemicals and indeed they found micropolyps which were removed, this was in January. In March we did the transfer and now we are 24 weeks pregnant with twins 😍. I never had any kind of symptoms. Now I am not sure if this also contributed to our success along with the protocol on steroids but probably is worth to count. Good luck 😃🤞
Oh yay congratulations!! 💕. Do you have anything other fertility issues, like low AMH or older? I would actually love to find something so I can solve the problem as I can’t do much about my egg quality xx
Thank you. No, they couldn't find anything wrong with me. We been diagnosed with male factor. My AMH was 35 at 29 years old, despite that I never produced crazy amount of eggs- 6, 7, 3 and 10 mature eggs (4 IVF cycles). For egg quality I strongly advise you to take inositol, this was recommended by my clinic. I think this played an important role on my last cycle. I am 30 year old now 🤫😁
I had an investigative one - no symptoms - they found my ovary was stuck to my pelvic wall, and I had some cysts and moderate endometriosis all over. They got rid of it all.
Successful ICSI after (after they’d also sorted out my thyroid and prolactin levels)
Ohhh I’m crying reading this! So happy you got your baby. Thanks for taking the time to reply to me often you never hear from women after they go on to have their babies. Can I ask did you have any symptoms or any other fertility challenges? Low AMH/Older age etc.? I’m hoping they find something so I have some answers other than “poor quality eggs” xx
My AMH was a couple of years ‘older’ for my age but nothing major - like a 36 year olds rather than a 33 year olds or something (this was in 2018, I’m 36 now)
My thyroid level was too high so went on levothyroxine June 2018.
My prolactin level was up and down and had to have an MRI to check for a prolactinoma or whatever it’s called (a harmless-to-an-extent tumour on the pituitary gland that makes you secrete too much prolactin)
As it turns out I didn’t have one and had unexplained high prolactin which can stop you getting pregnant. They actually cancelled a round of IVF for me last June because it was too high - they knew it wouldn’t have worked. Went on drugs and got it sorted so started the successful round last august.
Other half’s morphology was also crap - 0% !
Look back through my posts / replies etc I’ve detailed various things in the past xx
I had a hysteroscopy + biopsy after my second failed transfer (first failed FET) but with no signs of endo or similar. They didn't find anything unusual fortunately/unfortunately).
I did get a BFP on the next FET though so perhaps that helped flush things out, like a mini scratch.
I had a Laparoscopy / Hysteroscopy 3 yrs ago at age 37 1/2. Initially it was to remove a couple small fibroids, but ended up having stage 2 endo removed. A small section of my bowel was stuck to my uterus. I didn’t think I had symptoms before hand, as gynecologists always told my heavy painful periods were normal. I had minor digestive issues which I also assumed were normal until I didn’t have them anymore (worked night shift so I attributed them to poor diet).
At the time of surgery my AMH was ok, not great but not bad (don’t remember exact number). Did the max 6 IUI over the next year or so, but none successful. Switched clinics and started the IVF process 2 months before 39th bday. By that time AMH was much lower. Egg quality has been an issue for me. I got a decent number at collection, but they either didn’t make it to day 5 blast or they tested PGS abnormal. Donor eggs were brought up more than once, but I resisted. Took me 7 egg retrievals to bank 6 normal embryos.
1st FET last November was chemical.
Turned 40 on 28 Jan.
2nd FET last month was successful (taking prednisone this time in addition to estrogen tablets, progesterone shots, low dose aspirin and lovenox shots). I’m currently 6w 1d. During treatment I attempted to improve egg quality, prevent endo from returning and lessen miscarriage risk by increasing protein intake (70g+ per day), greatly reducing gluten and dairy intake (didn’t cut out completely; pizza is my weakness) and taking LOTS of supplements - prenatal, vitamin D3, vitamin C, vitamin B complex, calcium & magnesium, CoQ10, fish oil, NAC and R-Lipoic Acid (still taking all but vit b complex. My prenatal has sufficient b vitamins, and too much can be harmful during pregnancy).
Sorry for the long response! Best of luck on your journey!!!
Hi there. I’ve had both. First lap was after very obvious symptoms but my second one I had no outwardly presenting symptoms, just fluid that was noticed on scan. Turned out to be a Fallopian tube completely blocked by Endo which I had removed. In between the two laps I had a hysteroscopy because whenever I had a FET it always seemed like I started spotting really early. NHS had just put me on Lubion but when I moved private the hysteroscopy found abs removed polyps.
For us, the procedures did improve things and we got pregnant the first FET after our last laparoscopy. Wishing you all the best xx
Hello. I had absolutely no symptoms, didn’t have painful periods or any of that but found stage 2 endo in my lap. It was all on the outside of my uterus luckily so it wasn’t the reason I wasn’t conceiving, but I was glad they found it when they did!
Hello. Endo is not always that noticeable and It’s a pain of a thing. I have stage 4 endo, it had completely attacked my uterus and bowel. I was diagnosed in 2018. I had a bowel resection and laparoscopy to remove. It’s since grown back with scarring and my beautiful embryos won’t implant. We suspect due to the endo, so hence I’m going to start downreg.
