Donor egg in Spain, anyone?

Hi,

I am checking at some donor egg options. So far I did an enquiry (£85 for that, thank you!) in a clinic in Prague but at the end they could not answer few of my enquiries. They told me that there is a donor program and the manager does not have access to it… so it makes me wonder, it might not be the right place for me.

I have heard good reviews about Spanish clinics. Anyone has done it over there? And can you share your experience? Loosing the hope here today!

Thanks

Hello, I haven't done it myself but considering it. A friend of my family did it in Spain and it went well for her after two attempts. I'll send you a private message with more details.

Hi. Please do not mention clinics by name in response to this post. Private message if need to. Thanks. Diane

Hello!

Jumping onto this chat as i can see a few ladies have used donor eggs in Spain. I would be keen to hear your stories if willing to share? Particularly interested in the matching and selection of donors and how you felt this process compared to UK system?

Following 7 failed IVF cycles using my own eggs, my husband and i have decided using a donor is the only way forward for us. I'm 44 soon to be 45 so i do not have the luxury of time on my side either! I had been searching for a suitable UK donor for the last 6 months but nothing has come up, and the two we liked the sound of got snapped up before we could make a decision...) so we decided to look into the donor system in Spain as we may have more chance of finding someone who resembles me (i'm half med, half english) although i know the donors may be different nationalities.

I had a good chat with a clinic in Valencia but we're finding it hard to decide whether to stick with finding a donor in the UK knowing it will take more time to find someone who is a close match to me or go with the Spanish system of using biometric matching and other tests they use (but with no info on the donor) and therefore putting all our trust in the docs out there to find a complete match (seems a lot to match up e.g. blood type, physical resemblance etc). I know i sometimes overthink so part of me feels that getting the docs to decide may be best...

Wishing everyone all the very best with their journeys and I'm so happy we can use this forum to support one another and share our stories x

Also happy for anyone to DM me if you prefer and thank you in advance!
